Taps and water advice
We have an older 1998 Dalesman 450ct. Great wee caravan. Just getting it ready for Easter hols and faced with a small plumbing issue. To get the cold tap in the toilet working, we have to turn on the cold tap in the kitchen area. Hot taps work independent
of each other with no probs. I though there was maybe an air pocket somewhere as it did this last season but we drained the pipes completely in Autumn. Now doing it again. Slightly baffled...any advice appreciated :-)

Does your pump work by detecting a pressure drop, or do the taps have individual micro switches. If the latter might be a faulty micro switch, or poor connection. We had this problem in our last van, unfortunately in our case it was not possible to replace the switch and it meant a new tap.

Oh I'm not technical enough to consider either of your suggestions!

Sounds to me that Steve's suggestion of a goosed toilet tap is correct. A caravan spares place will be able to tell you if a new tap is needed or if you fit a new switch.
Have you tried Google? If you identify the type of tap it would be a start.

The microswitch on the taps if fitted, must be working, because you are getting hot supply independant of other taps.
i think you need to look elsewhere for the problem.
trace the blue pipe back from your bathroom, and check all items it connects to.

Sorry forgot to add, this is assuming you have a hot/cold mixer style tap fitted.

Hi, yes it's a mixer tap in bathroom and the kitchen. The sink is a fold down type. Will need to try and get access to the pipe work somehow and see what's happening. Don't see any cables or wires though. Just seems a bit weird that the tap only works when
the kitchen tap is on too0 -
Have just looked at your caravan details on web, it would appear that you have a pressure sensing valve system fitted to that model.
so you either have a blocked or restricted pipe to the cold supply on fold down sink,or on some types of pressure valve you can adjust the pressure that the valve opens at. The larger flow rate to your main sink is actuating the valve and the smaller pipe
diameter to your fold down sink is not actuating it.if your not good at diy , get someone else to check it out.
