The bottom half of the door into our caravan has dropped which means that everytime we open or close the door we have to push both halves.  My husband has tried to alter the hinges but to no avail.  Has anyone any ideas??

I had a similar problem recently. There is no adjustment on the section of hinge attached to the door frame....assuming your van is fairly new. This part has been bonded to the door frame for a few years now.

The only adjustment is on the part of the hinge attached to the door itself. There are usually 2 or 3 grub screws on each hinge which can be loosened and the door panel can then be moved up or down as necessary. Its definitely a 2 person job!! That is the
only adjustment I am aware of.

If your van is older than 4/5 years the above may not apply but I would think similar principles apply.

Can the hinges be removed and a thicker washer be placed on the hinge shaft? Unless the van structure has moved then wear there seems the likely issue.

Try this. Open the whole door about two feet, and grasp the door as low down as you can with your shoulder tucked roughly where the latch is, then gently try to lift. I've done this twice on my conqueror when the door seems to have dropped and it moves it
just enough to stop it catching on the frame.

An old trick from the motor trade, many years ago when car door hinges were welded to the frame and not easily replaceable we used to put a small hammer head in the opening at the bottom hinge location. The door was then closed gently onto the hammer, this
action caused the hinge to sprain slightly and therefor lifted the door back to correct alignment. The same would apply to the caravan door perhaps using the handle of a pair of pliers, you need to be carefull but still need enough force to make it work.

On the door you have 2 Allen key bolts. un do these but hold the door as it can drop out to the floor! Put a pound coin on the top of the botto half of the door and lift it up so the coin touches the bottom of the top half. Do the Allen bolts back up and
you should have a perfectly spaces door back in position. It's a real life 5 minute job.
