First service and some damp
bought a 2012 caravan last year from a dealer and just had it serviced by an independent person. He found one spot of 20% damp above the door but everywhere else under 15%.
he reckoned its nothing to worry about, it's been very wet lately, etc. Just keep an eye on it.
but I have one more week left of the year warrenty from the dealer. Is it worth quickly following this up or if the service guy said its ok do I trust him, he knew it's still under warrenty from the dealer btw.
also would the dealer just tell me to go back to Lunar as its under the six year damp warrenty? Because I'm not sure Lunar will accept this as their warrenty handbook says I must have all the vat invoices for all services and I don't have them, handbook
is stamped though.

From what I was told by a dealer a couple of years back, the manufacturer won't even get mildly excited until the damp reading is 25%....Did you have the details of the van transferred into your name with Lunar when you purchased the van? If not I think
your Warranty with Lunar could well be void anyway. I would certainly speak to your dealer before your warranty runs out with him tho.0 -
Thanks. Will ring the dealer and see what they say.
i have a letter from the dealer saying they transferred the warrenty to me but then when I read the small print from lunar it says I must have the service invoices in order for the warrenty to be valid. The servicing was all done at the dealer so maybe
they could reprint the invoices if needed.have also realised I've never had any Cris documentation and im unsure how much of an issue that is.

Given the weather there may not be a problem but I would log a claim with the dealer. If it was sold as with a full service recoprd then you have every right to demand this and if not look for damages for misdescription but it will almost certainly be too
late to reject it. If the dealer can produce copy invoices or can assure Lunar that they did the servicing then the Lunar guarantee should stand but it is not guaranteed. The Sale of Goods Act will apply to the sale so you may still have rights against the dealer if there is a problem and also against any HP company or credit card issuer if either were used.
Assuming you are a club member then speak to the legal helpline as they must have a vast experience of this sort of problem by now.

Which is exactly what the dealer said today. They weren't overly interested so I will just keep an eye on it and make sure I get it serviced
next year before the Lunar six year warrenty is up. thanks.0 -
