I understand that anything over 20% would need need futher investigation. My previous Sprite was 9.5 years old at service and the highest reading was 14% which was very good, that's why I got a good PX against a new caravan last October.

I agree. Anything over 20% moisture content for a long period will lead to timber decay. The problem certainly needs investigation sooner rather than later. If you purchased the van from a dealer with a warranty then I would discuss the problem with them.

Hmm!  Strange but interesting.  Perhaps a staff member would explain.

This post also appears as Damp Percentage and seems to be a duplication.

I would go straight back to the dealer - and get something sorted out asap before the problem gets worse.  It has been a very wet winter, but this damp indicates you have a problem.

Our caravan is now fifteen years old, and fortunately had no damp at all during it's service in 2015.

How do those 'Club Approved stickers' appear on posts?

That would be me Wink when a very knowledgeable Club member gives the same advice I would, I give them a Club Approved sticky.

Do you have a list of 'very knowledgeable Club members' or do you just gamble that an answer may be correct????

I do try and read the posts as they are made and rather than see me plastering info left, right and centre, I think it's nicer to see a member has given the correct info via a Club Approved sticker Happy

Sorry Kelly this is a can of worms...how does one become qualified to judge and state that 'The Club' endorses any particular comment on a forum?

Please delete my posts if you find them offensive in any way, although they are certainly not intended to be!!

Whilst I understand the sentiment behind the 'approved' stickies I am with EJB on this 'club approved' issue. I hope the club lawyers have been informed.......

Regretably, I too agree that this idea is fraught with problems. Are you going to give the approved sticker to every single post which gives a 'correct' answer and is this your own opinion or are you acting as the Club's spokesperson, giving the "Club's
    opinion"?

Is it a new initiative, as I don't recall seeing them before? If so would it have not been worth a bit of publicity to explain them? If not where have they been for the last few years?

Chris Rogers said much the same before Kerry's post so did the right person get the seal of approval?

What a fiasco! Sorry, but it is. Surely, Club Approval shouldn't be handed out to some posters and not others? Many people give correct information without getting a ridiculous red sticker on their posts. Who is qualified to judge these matters?

I guess by your use of the smileys in your posts that you think this is a matter of fun which it isn't. Ridiculous, yes. Fun, no.

What happened to good old communications - did no one have the simple thought of telling CT users what was going on?

Kelly, this is an ill thought out idea and divisive in nature. My advice is to drop it forthwith before you drag the Club into heated arguments.

Unfortunately, this thread has strayed off topic with all the comments about the 'club approved' posts and we don't have the facility to move individual posts.

As we have another thread on the subject, can any further comments on this topic be posted here within the Help and Feedback Section.

    Many Thanks.
