I'd go back to the dealer and trade it in for another.

I am afraid to say that if a wall or floor is spongy then it has probably been damp for a long time.

When you purchased the van did the dealer do a pre delivery inspection and was a damp report included?  If not I would get an independant inspector to look at it, determine the extent and how long it's been present.  Armed with that information I would return to the dealer seeking recompense.  you could of course contact the CC legal team and seek their advice.

The Sale of Goods Act applies to second hand goods and the six months guarantee is of no consequence. If you are a club member speak to the clubs legal helpline but if not check if your household insurance or any union membership has one. After that try
    Citizens Advice for help.

If it leaks after six months it is not fit for purpose so they have to repair or give you your money back.

Just quote the act and use any advice you get at th3 dealers and do not be fobbed off with rubbish about a six month guarantee.

If you bought on HP or paid for any of it on a credit card the finance company will also have a liability so contact them as well.
