Truma combi
We have just taken delivery of a new Lunar Quasar 554 and it is now sitting on the drive awaiting our first opportunity to get away in it. Long story short, I have perused the instructions but am still not clear. Can I run the blown air heating without filling
the hot water tank? It would make pre trip pottering a little more comfortable.

Yes,as already been stated. Incidentally if you have problems with temperature control have a look at where the manufacturer has fitted the sensor for the thermostatic control. They sometimes fit them too near to a local heat source( like above a TV) which
can cause the heating not to respond throughout its range. The manufacturers supply the unit with too short a lead apparently. The sensor should be as close as is possible to the coldest spot in the van eg near the habitation door.We had issues with our Combi
unit until we got the sensor rewired to an optimum location, whereupon it worked a treat.0 -
I’m not sure that that’s valid, BB. I think it’s fine to use both electric or gas on the newer models. It may be a good idea to switch the temp up to get the full benefit of gas. The gas is turned off if the temperature difference is low, to use electric
only, and electric will not be as effective on its own. It would, indeed, be pointless to set it to heat water only. Make sure that the fan comes on and that will confirm that the (space) heating is working.0 -
Assuming OH doesn't block the vent with her makeup bag, the bathroom is the warmest place in our van.
