Double Standards
On a recent holiday to a caravan club site the lease car I drive broke down. Not a problem i thought and called the breakdown services who duly towed the vehicle to a local garage several miles away.I then phoned the lease company for a replacement to be told it wasnt their policy to deliver a car to a caravan site.Even after i explained to them this was the most recognised club in the UK which i was a member of and the fact i was already looking after one of their vehicles and had been doing for years happily driving around in caravan sites with no problem they refused and reiterated it wasnt company policy.Has anyone else encounted a problem like this as im still puzzled as to why.I unfortionatly had to pick it up from a hotel car park which was bizzare as i wasnt staying there and as it took them an hour longer to deliver it i was subject to survalence from the hotel manager who wondered why i was sat around in his car park .It made me feel like a criminal. To add insult to injury i then opened my copy of the club magazine to see the same lease company advertising their services in on a full page spread!!!!

Didn't you post a nearly identical story on 26 July .... only that time it concerned delivery of a hire car?
You seem to be very unlucky.

Goodness, I thought it sounded familiar

That wasn't on the other club site was it? I must have missed it.
No, it was this one. You can track it through his profile.

Perhaps the car leasing company (isn't that much the same as a car hire company) 'discriminate' and say they won't deliver to Caravan Sites in order to avoid having to hire cars to the travelling fraternity?
The OP's other post was in 'Your Stories' where it won't get anything like the number of viewings as it does on here - so I don't see any reason for criticism.
I regularly post the same things on different forums, or even 'reminders' on the same forum occasionally if I think the original post didn't attract the attention of those it was intended to reach.

That point was also made in the other thread, Valda.

It's not exactly the same issue, Valda. I never read stories and can remember the previous thread and several posts. There's no trace of it now though which is strange. Ah well, such is life.

Just want to say yes idid post this some weeks ago but when I tried to access it it came up with a ooops error message so I couldn't see any replys.

Have to say I find some of the replies bewildering.I was just asking if anyone knew why it happened to me .im not wanting to name names but yes it was a lease company not a hire company and i made it clear to them I was already in possession of one of their
cars already with all the id associated with it.if I have put it on the wrong site then shoot me.i had a nightmare trying to post the last report0 -
Ps the same company hires cars out as well i have just checked

Timpsonboy.......unless you post something supporting the CC you will normally be shouted down by a few regulars on this forum.
IanH - there are many posts on this forum which question the policies of the Caravan Club. And members make their points both for and against. All OK if made within within the Community Guidelines.

Write your comments here...Strangely enough, the same thing has been said by individual posters many times before.

Hi Kennine
Perhaps you could supply the Community Manager with evidence from the "many times" you have noticed such comments and activity - to help her investigate?
In the meantime, can I suggest this discussion is allowed to proceed on-topic?
Cheers

Done as you suggested, Bugs.
No doubt you will be providing the same advice in an impartial way to others, when needed......
Cheers,

Ian, I guess that will depend on if the 'others' are making accusation as you were
0 -
Well, you and your chums usually do, Rocky.......
What accusations have I made Ian?, put up or shut up.

I'd do the latter, if I were you Rocky.......
Mmm, I thought as much. More accusations then. Very sad

Apologies to Timpsonboy - I did ask 6 or 7 posts ago for folks to allow your discussion to get back on topic, but sadly as you can see, some find that difficult.
I'm therefore temporarily closing this discussion and referring it to the Community Manager for review.
