Cloudy day but no frost overnight and warm enough for me to go out only in thermal vest and Paramor shirt, and a pair of Ronnie's of course, for our walk. Walked from the site thro' Ingleton and up to the top of Beezley Falls and back down. Mist came down
quite low on Ingleborough after lunch so we were glad we'd not gone up that way today, maybe tomorrow if it looks fine.

Yes Wherenext what a good job you were in.  Otherwise you might have ended up with the hassle that I had this morningSurprised (see
    my earlier post)

I shouldn't really complain as I was annoyed that deliveries were tying up an extra 2 days. " Why can't they deliver them on the same day?" said I. Well, they must have heard me.

Sorry to hear about your kerfuffle, Millie. Even worse when you have to apologise. We had it slightly differently a few months ago when a neighbour rang our bell asking for her parcel. We tole her that nothing had been delivered. She went off only to return
5 minutes later accusing us of lying and, with her mobile in hand, stated that the delivery company confirmed delivery to a neighbour. Very embarassing for her when it was confirmed that the neighbour was the other side of her and not us. We don't take too
kindly to be called liars, so guess what? No more parcel acceptances. 99% of the time we were the default for her but not anymore.

    Write your comments here...

Luckily Mr H was very polite and didnt call our neighbours liars. I hope your neighbour apologised wherenext.

Had another DVLA field vision test this afternoon. Scored 117/120 so hoping they will give me my licence back.

Fingers crossed for you CY. your score's probably better than many that are out there driving at the moment, looking at the antics of some drivers.

..+1 from me to CY Smile

Cold  I  can  stand,  B2,  it's  wet  and  hunger  that  ruin  my  days  !

Why are you going hungry ABM? Too much bird food? I'd much rather have cold and bright than warm grey and dull. In this part of the country we don't get a lot of rain but I agree not keen.

Ron Hill's trackie bottoms.....you know the ones, quite tight with a red stripe down the outside seam. Nice and warm but dry very quickly if they get wet.

Visited a concert venue this afternoon to check out things for Saturday's concert then on to a long hectic practice to get the concert items ship shape.  12.30 am and just arrived back home.  The good thing is we did manage to have tea out at a local pub
to save the journey back home in between.  Great steak pie with mushy peas and chips with a pint at The Black Swan, Jackfield, near Ironbridge.  Dog friendly too.  Always enjoy our visits to The Black Swan.   Laughing

Just got up but it's still dark outside, just the Christmas tree to light up the window. I've just made a pot of tea.

Write your comments here...Seems like a nice meal, David. Was it puff pastry that they used for the steak pie?

Up, opened blinds in kitchten whilst making coffee, not a single bird in view, not even the ubiquitous Seagulls.  That indicated that the temperature had risen, 6C at 7 am.

Write your comments here...That seems a bit strange, Oneputt. I would have thought the rising temperature would attract birds rather than the other way round.

Like us humans, birds burn calories to keep warm, so the colder it is the more food they need to devour to create body warmth

I suppose there must be a fair amount of resident birds that will remain here throughout the winter, however, the migratory birds must have flown south by now. I think the Sandmartins migrate to North Africa for the winter.

We had croissants for breakfast this morning. We found some reduced price ones in the Broadwater Tesco Express last night on our way home from work. Preheated the oven for 10 minutes and 5 minutes to cook. Nice with a bit of melted butter and marmalade!
It made a nice change for breakfast this morning.

I'm currently looking after my daughter's three dogs. Well I say I'm looking after them we're all just chilling I can't walk them at the moment but they're being good for now. While the OH and her are off to the supermarket we'll all just have to snuggle
    up until they get back.
