Are you eligible for the Winter fuel allowance Malc? it will pay for the gas
Malcolm use should have been eligible for winter fuel payment before your 65th birthday. It goes/went with woman's retirement age 60 and going up gradually. OH has certainly had it for last couple of years. In fact letter to say its on its way yesterday.
Checking bank for other reasons its already been credited. . £200 for first to reach 'the age' spilt for couples when younger one reaches it. Then its had each. Check it out, don't think you can back date. That's your morning sorted0 -
We have the scafolding and the fitter but no materials. Not quite sure what has happened. The company we are using (used them before) contract out this sort of work. If they are fitting windows they collect everything en route to the customer but because
it is contracted out they should deliver the materials to the location. Looks as though the job might take longer than expected!!!David

Interesting weather this morning - Earlier we had strong, cold winds and driving rain. Then the rain turned to wet snow, back to heavy rain again. Typical November weather. Put the winter walking gear on when taking the dog for his walk this morning and
was snug, dry and warm as we walked through the weather, lovely cosy feeling.Not exactly good caravanning weather though.
Had planned to do more gardening today but decided to help with the house work instead.

Once actually in receipt of the State Pension, I think the WFA is paid automatically? It's only necessary to claim it if you qualify before your own pension age.
I think it can often be later in the winter before you get it when it is your first year.
No sign of ours yet, and no letter yet either.

We had some rain now sunny with wind. Bed linen blowing nicely . Just ordered personalised Dora book for eldest granddaughter as present. Then ordered books for each of the granddaughters, separate parcel's, not sure if you can argue at four months and
two and half but better safe than sorryJust having bacon buttie and slice of homemade banana cake for lunch before deciding in this afternoons activities and a catch up in here. Very little news on CT

I'm quite happy that we can now more readily afford to pay to have work done but often don't because of the hanging around and just your current situation. Must be control freaks

Funny day here so far, no rain or sleet as forecast but it is overcast with bits of sunshine now and again.
OH been busy putting together some units we bought at Ikea for the hallway yesterday, think they are just what we needed.
Been busy washing
not a good day to hang out (damp) so they are in the tumbler. Going food shopping this afternoon and a visit to big Sis
afterwards.Must get Christmas cards written and ready with us going away early December.
Bakers2, got the parcel off to Malta yesterday, repackaged and got it down to just under 2kg so went by PO. Did it all on line, could have send it for £13.25 delivery up to 2 weeks, but chose to go for the tracked and signed for £16.60 delivery 3 - 5 working
days, value up to £50. Thought the extra £3 was worth it for the extra things you get. Just had to drop it in at the post office who give you a receipt of posting.Oh lovely sun out again

Eventually the materials did turn up although a couple of hours were lost. We have also have also had some very heavy rain although blue sky now. Once everything is to hand the work seems to progress quite quickly but there is a lot to do. The scaffolder wanted to come take it down tomorrow but I think that might be a bit ambitious. When we are having work like this done we do tend to clear the decks so nothing else is happening.

I think when I first got mine the women's pension age was still 60, so I must have had to apply.......so long ago I have forgotten!
Malcolm, look out for your extra £10 Christmas Bonus, usually added to the December amount without any explanation.
Both the bonus and the WFA are outside of tax, so do not include them on your Self Assessment.

Don't know about self assessment so not certain but I thought all income should be declared taxable or not????
