Was your dog brave enough to go in the water Helen?

No Millie, not a chance Laughing he just raced up and down the beach, and played with a tennis ball.

Write your comments here...I don't blame him! Not the best time of the year to go paddling in the sea! A bit too cold I think! This is more the season for some brisk walking.

Last night, in between deliveries, I managed to sort out a booking for next year: Baltic Wharf Caravan Club site in Bristol from 9th January for 3 nights break.

So I now have two bookings for next year already.

The other booking is the National at Sandringham. I notice the fee has already been collected as £95 is showing up on my bank statement as a pending transaction. However, we want to arrive on the Friday and I can't remember whether I included that on the booking form. If not, can it be amended?

Last day at 'Commons wood' site, so far we have had a day in London and been on the London Eye, sat in the public gallery at the House of Commons listening to a debate on BHS's. Visited Sir Bernard Shaws house, seen the Roman baths under the A1, spent a
day at Wrest park and today will visit the 'Lee valley'.

Spent a lovely afternoon at Perranporth,  wow! What a beach, the dog really loved it too.Smile  Lots of surfers, out on the water, great fun
    to watch.

Perranporth beach is a great place for dogs at this time of year isn't it? In fact all year round there are very few restrictions (just must be on a lead on the main part of the beach in July and August). Further up towards Newquay, there are a number of
beaches with no restrictions - Porth Joke and Crantock are two of our favourites, but there's also Holywell and even Fistral (where you can park free at the southern end of the beach.) We very often walk up the beach round the headland and then back along
the beach finishing with a coffee at Boldhu's sitting on the balcony averlooking the beach. Magic!

Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Bit of a grey start to the day this morning, but dry and autumn is really on us now with the trees shedding piles of leafs for the dogs to romp through. It looks as if it might brighten up this afternoon though and we're planning a trip to Bath to do the
    NT skyline walk.

I've just finished making my first Christmas cake. It's in the oven now for the next three hours or so. I'll make three altogether for various members of the family. I was helped by my grandson and we'll make another sometime next week while he's off school
    for half term.

a bit of mixed bag today, sun one minute rain the next and its getting colder Frown peeing it down again but the sun is out.

Just got back from Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens - looking absolutely splendid in the sunshine and the autumnal colours glowing. Being a Nat Trust member its free, otherwise get ready for a big bill especially if you add on food and drink!

Just been doing some more work on the garden steps......oohh me back!

Not far off now though. Short lengths of railway sleepers embeded in the ground, all nicely spaced, forming a gentle curve and tied together with pieces of wood to stop them all creeping down the slope.

Just need to get some crusher-run stone to bed the flags on.

    Tomorrow's job, I think......

Had a lovely walk from Bentley to Brightlingsea and back along Flag Creek (SSSI) in Essex today. We have a Geocaching trail along the route and needed to do a maintenance run. A lovely sunny day and surprisingly warm. Still not fully recovered from my man
flue yet, just saying, not after any sympathy.

So that's why I can never find a parking spot. It's all those ruddy dog walkers!
