None of the electrics are working, so I can't even shut the sun roof and its started to rain. It's going to get rather wet in here. It's getting cold too! One more hour to wait.
Hope Green Flag sort our the problem, and you get back safely Malcolm.

Opticians today. Both Mr H and I need new glasses - more expense
I was lucky in that my prescription hadn't changed when I had my eyes tested the other week, the optician tried to get me to buy another pair, but was strong and resisted.

Unfortuntately both our prescriptions had changed because of cataracts Helen. Mr H's ready for op and has been referred. Mine not ready yet. Back next year. Had to go for new glasses espescially as we need to drive. Had noticed when we went to theatre recently
that I couldnt actually see the people on stage properly.0 -
How are others planning to spend next year? New adventures or comforting returns?
Well the wife has decided that as we have not used the caravan as much as we would have liked over the last two years it is time to sell up, i am of course resisting, we shall see what happens.Hope that you can pursuade her that it will be better to use the van more than to get rid of it, SELL.

Left New Abbey and moved onto CL near Gatehouse of Fleet. Weather's still kind to us, and it was quite warm in the sunshine this afternoon. Had a walk around part of the Cardoness Static site, one of the best laid out site of this kind that we've seen. Bet
that they have a waiting list for any of the statics/lodges that might come up for sale.0 -
Beat me to it Ian.

It's a facet of Life that I forever curse, Ian !
When we are young & starting out in life we have the pay & leave as befits "Juniors" even tho' we need money & time for buying & setting up our first homes etcetera. Then when we are older we retire, have time {&
some of us have the cash} to do what we want but alas the Flesh is weak & gets more so as we go along !0 -

Nellie its partly the wifes fault, after her going part time at work so we could spend more time away, she decided that she would start picking up our daughters two children from nursery and school to help them out, they dont get picked up from our house
until 6pm on a friday and thats to late to start setting off for the weekend. if the worst comes to the worst i could always go on my own and join the solos lol0 -

Malcolm, sorry to sound wise after the event, but if same hospital needed for future work then go by train from Worthing, Gatwick or thereabouts to London Bridge Station. Hosital is next door as it were.
Hope you are all sorted soon, best wishes to you both.
Write your comments here...That might be a good idea for next time as she was told that four more appointments may be necessary. There's a train from Goring by sea station change at Haywards Heath to London Bridge Station £31.70 return if she travels on her own. I could take her by car to the station and collect her from the station on her return. Journey time one hour 31 mins. Much quicker than by car!

Green Flag arrived at 7 p.m. last night. He said I needed a new battery but he could get the car going on the old one but that I would need to keep the engine running until I got home. I would have thought the battery could last longer as it's only one year old!
It was 4.7 miles from Hyde Park to the Hospital but the journey took one hour as the traffic was horrendous. It got a little better once I got across the bridge. We finally got back to our caravan at 10.30 p.m. last night.

Spent yesterday with brother and nephew at a Steam Gala at the Watercress Line. Largest congregation of nerds I've ever seen, I think. A bit of history and nostalgia is OK but a whole day of "Oh look, a Mark 4-7a" or whatever just doesn't do it for me.
The upside was that I was back in time to attend a concert by a choir with an unpronounceable name from St Petersburg which ended the day on a high note quite literally.

Lovely sunny morning here in Worthing but feeling exhausted after yesterdays trip to London. I've had breakfast and I think I might go back to bed for some more sleep now!

...Like others cannot understand why we go away in our LVs or to the sea in plastic boats etc
