MM There is an NCP car park at Guy's hospital which is pre bookable.Day rates are around £6.00 an hour.

Incidentially, where did you find the National booking form. I did not think the booking opened until the end of October.

Write your comments here...It was given to me in the goodies bag at the temporary club site at the NEC.

I couldn't find the car park and if it has a height limit our car couldn't fit under it anyway. It's nearly 7 ft. 6 tall with the roof box.

I had to drop her off at the hospital and then proceeded to HydePark where I found metered parking available outside the Will to Win cafe on South Carriage Drive. Cost £2.40 an hour.

New cartridge for shower arrived yesterday morning, only 22 hours after ordering, but tenant is busy, so wants me to come and fit it at 11 am on Saturday, and here we thought this was an emergency!

Apparently they have not had hot water to the bath/shower for 10 days now, but took 8 days to report the problem as they had not paid their rent.

Just hope the new cartridge is the solution.

OH still working on those curtains, half way through the last one, so should be able to deliver them on Sunday

Her next task is to make 3 sets of curtains for DD.  At least that is starting from scratch, and they are not to be lined, so much easier.  I expect it will be up to me to get the measurements sorted out first.

Oh, lovely day here, pity we are stuck inside.

I've now found on the map that the best approach to the hospital is through Snowsfields and not St Thomas Road which is a dead end. I've got six more minutes left before I have to feed the parking meter again! the maximum card payment is £2.40 and this buys just one hour. So I can't venture too far from here.

Sorry I got that wrong. £2.40 is the minimum payment and up to a maximum 4 hours can be purchased. Just done the renewal for four hours for £9.60 so I've now got until 6.30 p.m.

I've just been back into the cafe only to find that it's very crowded and noisy in there with nowhere to sit and too long a queue to order a cup of tea so I'm back in the car again. I might try again later but then it's already 3.07 p.m. and so can't be
too long before I can collect my wife from Guy's Hospital.

I think she's going to need more than one appointment, so hopefully, next time will be easier!

Garden recycling bins emptied by council today and duly refilled by yours truly this afternoon.

Had my flu jab this morning. Whilst waiting behind a man to check in I heard him ask for an appointment for a flu jab. The earliest was in 3 weeks time. He moaned and moaned then said he would take it. Whilst the receptionist was booking him onto the system
she told him that a cancellation had just shown up for this very morning, in half an hour if he cared to wait. Having moaned about the 3 week delay he saidthat the  one in half an hour was too soon! You can't win sometimes, can you?

Busy day again as its another dry day. OH not so good today think he did too much yesterday and too soon after his 'man flu' so he's having a lazy day as he didn't get much sleep last night coughing all the time.

So I painted the new shed by myself, it came with one coat on but its recommended that we put another one on within 3 weeks. Made a change from gardening at least most of it was done standing up instead of on my knees. Wink

We had a beautiful sunset last night so will be checking it out again tonight, might not be as good though.

Staying at Commons wood CC site, visited Wrest park a nice EH site and great grounds for walking. Lucky with the weather again as yesterday we had a dry and partly sunny day in London.

Our opticians won't do that.  They say it is 'cheaper' to have new glasses. Surprised A friend was also told the same by her (different)
optician. I don't understand the logic.

Disaster! The car's broken down. It won't start. So I'm stuck here in Hyde Park. My wife's appointment ended but it's going to be another 80 minutes before Green Flag can get here through the London rush hour traffic. Plus time to fix it. So she's going to have a long wait until I can get to the hospital to collect her

None of the electrics are working, so I can't even shut the sun roof and its started to rain. It's going to get rather wet in here. It's getting cold too! One more hour to wait.

Write your comments here...That's a good idea. I just texted that to her but her reply is that she prefers to wait at the hospital. She's not used to the London Underground so she'd probably get lost!

I've just run out of time on the parking meter too but then it's 20 past six and the control ends at 6:30. I'm in the car so I might be forgiven the last ten minutes, I hope!

Apart from day to day ongoing maintenance,,,,cut down a redundant S/mkt trolley and welded a pair of support braces at a angle to strengthen the handle ,so as to use the base platform as a transporter for a large 'genny' around the boatyard ."Simples
    "  !!
    Wink.

Malcolm, sorry to sound wise after the event, but if same hospital needed for future work then go by train from Worthing, Gatwick or thereabouts to London Bridge Station. Hosital is next door as it were.

Hope you are all sorted soon, best wishes to you both.

I was lucky in that my prescription hadn't changed when I had my eyes tested the other week, the optician tried very hard to get me to buy another pair, but was strong and resisted.
