Out walking today as the forecast was for a dry day. Drove a few miles to just above Pooley Bridge and walked over to Arhtur's Pike, and back over Heughscar Hill. Great views down Ullswater to the Helvellyn range & across to Blencathra. Will wait till the
morning to see if we go walking again on the hiils or take the bus into Keswick.

I heard it said that if you spend a whole day at the show, it would be the equivalent of walking 7 miles!

Write your comments here...Me too! I needed forty winks by the time I got back to the caravan. I feel a bit more recovered after that. Ready for tonight's show which starts in half an hour.

Our cat Charlie is now home thank goodness. Thin but looking much brighter and eating well. Just hope it lasts now he is off the medication. We are £350 poorer! Actually we didnt think that too bsd considering he has had 2 nights in vet hospital and lots
of tests, medication and v. good care.

Glad those of you at the NEC are having a good time. Hope you find a van you like Helen. Just bear in mind where the dealer is based. We bought a motorhome at the Peterborough Motorhome Show some years ago from a dealer based on the Kent coast and had to
take it back twice for minor faults which was quite a trek for us.

Really pleased Charlie is home and on the mend, cost doesn't come into it with our pets. Agree we will have to be careful to find a dealer that's not too far from home.

Glad to hear that Charlie is home and looking much brighter. Having one's pet home is well worth whatever it's taken to get them back from the vets.

I'm still waiting to here from Chipping Sodbury Caravans about when the work can be completed on the aircon. I sent them an email about it yesterday but no reply.

Like you say Milliehull, it's best to buy from a local dealer. Each time we need work doing on our caravan, it involves a 150 mile trip there and another 150 miles back.

Think its dull and grey out this morning although I haven't opened the blinds to see!

Malc if your van is still under warranty you can get work done by a local brand dealer thats what we have done although the replacement floor will be done by the dealer we brought it from in Sussex.

Do you know that no one wants to repair a wood burner so instead of getting a small welding job costing a couple of hundred quid looks like its going to be a new stove!

Glad  to  see  you  are  all  still  here  !!

Had  36  hours  B/Bandless  and  that,  along  with  a  stroll  round  N E C ,  { from  and  back  to  Carpark  N5 !! }  got  me  my  days  allocation  of  exercise  if  nothing  else  !!

Rather  disappointed  with  Caravan  Club  Main  Stand  though  --  no  mention  of  C T  yet  again,  and  no  sign  of  any  CT-ers  either  sadly.

The  best  part  was  the  Meeks  giving  their  little  chat  &  Q/A  session.

    Hope  their  children  don't  change  'cos  they  were  brilliant  { Altho'  I  know  it  was  only  the  first  day  of  the  show  ! }

Still  managed  to  buy  a  few  bits  'n  bobs  which  I  suppose  will  be  dumped  in  the  workshop { SHED  !! }  by  the  start  of  next  week !

Hope  you  all  enjoy  what remains  of  this  dry(ish)  spell  and  build  yourselves  &  your  animamals ( sic )  up  for  the  dark  dreary  days  to  come

P.S.  To  whomsoever  it  may  concern -->  The  Snowdonia  Cheese  Company  has  it's  usual  Two  Stands  at  the  N E C again,  and  the  price  has  not  gone  up,  but  I  can't  see  the  amount  of  goodies  'cos  they  are
still  in  their  wax  jackets  Wink

I've decided against going in the end.  Carol needed to go out this morning so I had to dog sit, and I'm now going to sort out the caravan store cupboard to get rid of some of the rubbish that's been I there for years.  Off out in the 'van on Sunday so need to start getting things ready.

Wet and dull day here today. OH still dismantling bits from his shed, we've just done a skip run, he's now taking apart the metal racking he had in there. Think he is going to get some new wood racking later on when he does another skip run. Think I will
be needed again to help lift as he still has a shoulder and elbow problem, had his MRI scan on Monday but can't get back in to see the Prof until the 24th October (and that's going private)

Booked service for gas boiler this morning only appointment they can give is to fall in with the 'year' is 23 Nov Yell that means we will have
to cut our Nov trip by 4 days, can't be helped it has to be serviced.

Had a call from Mum's care home they are wanting us to agree to them moving Mum into the dementia care unit at the home. Knew it would happen at some stage but didn't think we had got there yet, seems Mum gets very upset and tries to 'escape' round about
late afternoon. It would appear from them that it takes a long time to settle her down again, so we are going in to have a chat and look around the unit, there are more careers in that unit so maybe she will be better catered for, they say that with dementia
if the sufferer can see the outside world ie doors they will keep trying to 'escape' but if they can't they settle better. Guess its not going to be an easy time over the next few weeks.Frown

TG, hope you have a good chat with the care home and feel ok about the next step. It is good they have a special unit attached and have accommodaton available. At least you'll know your Mum will still be be able to use doors in the unit but not come to any
harm. I hope all goes well for you and the family.

Thanks Brue, we knew it would come to this at some point so when we looked at homes, we chose one that had a Dementia unit within the home, didn't want to have to move her to another place when she would be at her most vunerable.

Well maybe you've saved some money this year Helen! I must admit I'm always looking at vans but I prefer some of the older designs and vans that have had all their teething troubles sorted. We've just helped all three of our children out with various finances so I think I'll just be looking rather than buying.Smile (Sorry JV our posts crossed.)
