Today started off by me breaking my glasses - in half! So an emergency visit to Vision Express. They fitted me in for an eye test too. £500 later I have a new pair of distance glasses and a pair of verifocals on order. I was hoping just to get away with
paying for lunch today and a day out. Wasn't expecting a day out at Vision Express.David

Composed a short poem for OH to commemorate wedding anniversary. Cleaned the apartment windows. Missed the F1 qualifying Off out for a meal
this evening - don't say I don't know how to treat a lady.0 -
Removed & took away a metal runged ladder from a demolishion site ,for use on the jetties @ the boatyard .Cut it down to suit.Went to the storage yard to check on the " Concorde" before next weeks journey to Portsmouth for some work.OOPS !! I found that
I'd left the fridge door ajar ,so the power had gone down .!! My little 'Genny@ would'nt put enough in ,so had to conect up to EHU.!!It seems the solar panel is'nt big enough to keep up ?? Or maybe new leisure batteries are needed ?? .0 -
Sitting outside the van with a beer just about to fire up the Cadac is this really October lol
Hope the weather lasts a bit longer. We're off to Cornwall for a few days in about a week. I'll take the Cadac!

Arrived home about midday after our overnight flight from Toronto. The weather's been unusually good for most of our time in Canada. Yesterday, up in Blue Mountain village we were sat out on our hotel balcony in hot, hot sunshine - so hot, in fact, we had
to go back inside where the air conditioning made it much more comfortable. Hard to believe that in about a month's time it'll be covered in deep snow and packed with the skiing fraternity! It's been a great fortnight away. Canada is such a clean country - not a bit of litter anywhere, even in the cities - and the people are so friendly and welcoming to visitors.
Nice to be back home and sleeping in my own bed though. Off to pick up the dogs in the morning, though if it's anything like last time they won't want to come home, they've been spoiled so much while we've been away!
Welcome home Moulesy, glad you had a good holiday, hope the dogs did too.

We've just taken the awning down in readiness for our trip to the NEC Caravan show on Monday. We decided to do it today in case it's very busy with the deliveries over the weekend.
Are you staying at the show then Malcolm?
We are hoping to get there Tuesday, if all goes to plan.
Write your comments here...Yes. We've booked a shingle pitch on the Caravan Club temporary site for two nights, Monday and Tuesday night. So we plan to arrive Monday afternoon and leave Wednesday morning. We have pre-booked tickets for the show on Tuesday.
If you are there on Tuesday, H&T, we could meet you there.Perhaps we will Malcolm, although I have to work in the morning so we won't get there until the afternoon.

Visit this morning to the medical centre for our Flu jabs, and I also had one for shingles too. Drove on to Bardsea Leisure for some waste pipe and a look around the vans there. They didn't have a Madrid, wonder if they've sold their allocation? The only
ones that we thought anything of was the twin bed versions, both Swift & Bailey, but not really taken with them.0 -
Had an unplanned hour at work this morning, then planned visit to a friend was postponed.
Took a trip to Cotswold Outdoor at Bicester, both OH and I bought new walking boots, used the CC discount, then stopped off for
pub lunch on way home.0 -

Where are you off to next? Hope all going well with new car.

Have a look at the Bailey Madrid. We love the size of the shower compartment in ours, and the good thing is the double wardrobes. Hope you see a van that you like at the NEC.
We hope to set off again on Tuesday, heading up to Penrith and then back to Dumfries area but won't go as far as we had hoped last time. Slowly getting used to the new car, thanks.

Had planned to be off tomorrow but we have an extremely poorly cat that needs to go back to our vet tomorrow. Also I have been laid low with a tummy bug today so the trip has been cancelled The
good news is that the 'tanker boys' have been out to clear the drains.0 -
Oh dear Millie, sorry to hear about your poorly cat and yourself, get better soon.
I have been out to see the Small Faces musical tonight, All or Nothing, on tour just now. Totally plunged back into the sixties with the music, everyone in the audience standing at the end, singing and dancing! A good evening out.

Now here is my problem, NTH, how does my doctor know which flu jab to give me, when there is currently no evidence as to which strain of the virus will be prevalent this year? MOH got hers two days ago and has since gone down with the flu, the symptons are
distressing. Mind you I am not very good at nursing so that probably doesn't help her situation either.0 -
I don't think the doctors get a choice in this, the Annual Flu Jab is worked out by the NHS etc from what ever is doing the rounds in the world as a whole or so I understand. Some years the crafty little Bug does a side step and thats when the out-breaks occur, but generally they seem to get it reasonably effective. BUT as you say the Flu can be a viscious illness and anything that helps avoid it has got to be good I M H O.

I got a text message from the medical centre inviting me to make an appointment for the flu jab but haven't got round to it yet.

We've got up to a lovely sunny morning here in Worthing this morning. There's a golden glow from the sun and not a single cloud in the sky. The leaves on the trees are looking golden too with the increasing Autumn colours. This is my favourite season. The
cooler weather gives me more energy and nature looks so much more colourful.0 -
Thank you brue. Our cat goes to the vet again this afternoon and I think they will have to keep him in at least overnight. I am feeling much better today. It sounds like you had a really great night last night.

I'm up early today Millie, looking at CT posts before I start on some work in the house, I do hope the vet can help the cat. Glad you're feeling better this morning.
I have only just caught up with things after our van holiday, OH has gone to a fishing match with his pals.Lovely sunny morning here.

Damp start to the morning so started to sort out photos from last trip. Meant to go to Thrigby Hall later for a scout do. Amazingh isn't it I lived in Norfolk for the best part of 45 years and never visited Thrigby even though its less that 15 miles from
where we live!0 -

Lovely sunny morning, not a cloud. Off to MK to see the boys and a visit to Ikea, just for a look!
Millie hope your cat is ok, and it's nothing serious.
