Called Anglian Water out today. Apparently there is a blockage in the sewer someway up the road and they need to get 'the tanker boys' out. I hope they get it sorted out soon as it is not very pleasant round here at the moment.
...Oh no! hope its sorted by now, i remember when we had a problem earlier this year, its not nice, thankfully they came out and sorted it within the hour.

nice cycle round the 'Bosham penninsula' (dont know what else to call it but it has water on three sides....) and then up to the Lavants
and the Goodwood estate before zipping back down to Chichester for the Walls Walk.....a quick raid of the the M&S foodhall (dine in for £10) and then the 20 min trip back to Concierge for a lovely sit out in the sunshine.
the stay here has been great, the staff, the infrastructure, location are all superb.....the showers are truly amazing, the sinks with invisible drains where the water must runsaway from you under a ledge.....yes, lots of comfort and bling, but is it worth
the £36 a night?well, for two or three days.....yes, its nice for a treat....but we did pass aCL withing walking distance of Chichester centre so we may check that put next time...
BTW, £36 is the least you would pay at any time of the year....weekends and other 'less out of season' times are more...sometimes much more.....
Just had a look on their website at present max price £48 per night, by the way did you book the 16amp or 32amp power supply

You have wine left in an opened bottle?
We usually have two on the go, white for OH, red for me. You wouldn't want me exceeding my recommended units now, would you?

Yet another fine day, wonder how long it will last? Hopefully next week will be similar as we intend setting off on Monday, all being well.
Spent the morning cleaning the outside of the caravan, and, after putting all the gear we carry into the new car spent a frustrating couple of hours trying to work out how to attached the detachable tow-bar. Suceeded in the end but I'm glad that I'd not
left it until just before heading off with the caravan. Hopefully with practice it will fit easier next time!!Write your comments here...We've got one of those, except we never bother detaching it!
Did think about that MM, but would nulify the reason, and cost, of getting one. It's a Volvo's own one, papgeno, but I think that I'm getting the hang of it now. Will give it another try tomorrow, and hope it's getting easier.
Write your comments here...We didn't have a choice. It came with the car.

Write your comments here...I find white goes well with chicken or fish and red with beef or lamb.

It's a bit grey and overcast here in Worthing this morning but at least it's not raining! We've just finished our breakfast of tea, cereal and toast.

Prospective cow buyers coming up from Wales today - so I'm making more of an effort with dinner (aka lunch for you posh folk out there). Sausage and Tomato pie in the oven.Thinking about pudding.
Write your comments here...Homemade sausage and tomato pie. I bet that's going to be tasty!

We've just taken the awning down in readiness for our trip to the NEC Caravan show on Monday. We decided to do it today in case it's very busy with the deliveries over the weekend.

Arrived home from work to find OH had all the caravan heater in bits the fan had stopped working, we assumed it was just the
fuse, but turned out to be a dodgy connection on the circuit board. All fixed now so we should be okay now for our autumn /winter trips.Write your comments here...
I often say that if you have a caravan or motorhome you need someone in the family who is practical or an engineer who can think through problems and put them right. Well done to your OH. Mr H often says he likes the problems and the challange of putting
them right. I could do without them myself.Millie, think your OH and mine would get on, neither of them would give up until they had sorted out the problem!

Are you staying at the show then Malcolm?
We are hoping to get there Tuesday, if all goes to plan.

Sounds delicious Goldie. Made chocolate cake yesterday, and it's Morrocan Spiced sweet potato soup today, must get into the kitchen, it won't make its self!

Had a detachable towbar when we had the Mazda. Nearly gave myself a hernia putting it on. Worse taking it off. Can't say I enjoyed it, especially the under the car electrics.
Hope you get the hang of it Nellie. How are you finding the car?

Sitting on the terrace of the villa by the pool, just finished lunch. Enjoying the views and the nice breeze we have today. Think I might be tempted to rent a private villa again its been a very enjoyable week. This one is 3 bedroom 2 bathroom, huge sun
terrace with a pool, views in every direction, the up stairs double has a small terrace off patio doors, great place for sitting and watching all that's going on in the bay below us, bit extravagant for just the 2 of us but its worth it. Last
day today, flight home tomorrow midday be home for tea.0 -
On our way to Portugal, stopped off at some freinds in Seville for the last 8 days, just getting aclimitised to the 30+ temps.
The vitimin "D" is getting stocked up for the summer at home.

Arrived home about midday after our overnight flight from Toronto. The weather's been unusually good for most of our time in Canada. Yesterday, up in Blue Mountain village we were sat out on our hotel balcony in hot, hot sunshine - so hot, in fact, we had to go back inside where the air conditioning made it much more comfortable. Hard to believe that in about a month's time it'll be covered in deep snow and packed with the skiing fraternity!
It's been a great fortnight away. Canada is such a clean country - not a bit of litter anywhere, even in the cities - and the people are so friendly and welcoming to visitors.
Nice to be back home and sleeping in my own bed though. Off to pick up the dogs in the morning, though if it's anything like last time they won't want to come home, they've been spoiled so much while we've been away!

We have the Volvo detatchable on our XC90, think it is maybe made by Brink.
Ours just pushes into place.....very quick and easy.
Wish mine was, but it's getting a bit easier.

It's coming, thankfully. The car's fine, it will be interesting to find out how it goes with the caravan on the back.

Glad you had a good time, M. Won't take you long to get acclimatised again to our cooler weather, I'm sure. Hope the dogs are pleased to see you both, as I'm sure they will be.

Write your comments here...Yes. We've booked a shingle pitch on the Caravan Club temporary site for two nights, Monday and Tuesday night. So we plan to arrive Monday afternoon and leave Wednesday morning. We have pre-booked tickets for the show on Tuesday.
If you are there on Tuesday, H&T, we could meet you there.0 -

It's a rather grey start to the morning here. We've just had breakfast of cereal followed by croissants.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Canada Moulesy, must admit I'm a bit biased as my Dad was brought up in central Toronto (it gets better when you know it!) I get awful jet lag flying west to east, one of the drawbacks for me. I read the posts about your travels,
it's lovely in the Algonquin area, I'm glad you didn't meet a bear!0 -
The weather seems to be improving here in Worthing. There are now patches of blue sky and dare I say the sun's trying to come out! It's nice and relaxing spending the morning here on the club site. I'm not looking forward to the forthcoming 11 hour shift at work though!
