Just got shot of 1/2 of my daughters camping gear, leaving a considerable chunk still to go. Just as well that I have a largish car with plenty of boot space, otherwise we would never be able to camp with the G/kids. Having spent a week with them all I am
now looking forward to a peaceful sleep and a lie in.

Dry when we set off this morning, but ran into heavy spray when we got onto the M6, and then heavy rain north of Manchester. Managed to get onto our CL but left a bit of a trail through the sodden ground. The CL's full tonight so hopefully the ground will
dry out quickly and not turn into a quagmire. Watching the local news this evening there's a number of flood warning for Lancashire and Cumbria, so it's no wonder the ground so wet! Here for 2 nights only as OH has an appointment at the Doctor's on Thursday
    for a further blood test.

Awoken early by dog deciding it required an early breakfast. Glanced through blinds to see a neighbour preparing to leave. After an hour and a half of packing up, no awning involved, they have finally departed. Credit where it is due, they made no noise,
but fascinating watching someone else going through all sorts of tasks. Certainly a two cups of coffee viewing session. The dog has gone back to bed!Happy

Took an elderly neighbour to town, caught up with some food shopping, glad to be home, temperature predicted to rise to 27C. Sitting inside, curtains closed, slight breeze blowing through. OH is cutting hedges, rather him than me but we might be able to
    see the westerly view later!

Washing machine on, beds removed from our bedroom (awaiting new beds) old beds on decking outside waiting to be collected. Sitting down having a cuppa and a catch up on here. Weather a bit dull but warmish, not got the rain the forecast yet! Need to go to
shops later so hope the beds aren't to late in the afternoon in coming.

Lovely warm day today, cut the lawns and did a bit of tidying around the garden. Just about to start packing for return trip down to Cornwall tomorrow, this visit includes a day up to Dartmoor for an Irish Setter rescue group sponsored walk, our first time,
should be an enjoyable day with a lovely cream tea at the end of the walk ( although being Devon they'll probably insist on us putting the cream on the scones before the jam - sacrilege!) Happy

Got the correct bolts today for the repair of the hitch on the van, so managed to get it all back together.  New jockey wheel clamp will hopefully also cure the alarming "lean" it had developed.  New break-away cable fitted too as it was the wrong type for
the way I clip it on.  Total cost of repair.....about £30 all in, so not as bad as expected.

Looking good now for getting away in 10 days time, just the cleaning and packing to do.

Been very hot today, Cool phew! Changed all the sheets and got them washed and on the line drying before work. Lunchtime headed into town, need
some new wellies, got some strange looks in the shops when I asked if they had any, Sticking Tongue Out probably
thought I was joking due to the weather! Undecided No where had any so if it does rain, it'll be wet feet when walking the dog. Sad

It's on the way TG, been wet here for about an hour now.

We've got it now Frown thanks, not as heavy as we thought it was going to be more of a mistly drizzle.

Good to hear you've got the van sorted and will be able to get away. We are off in 9 days time (we always seem to be around the same time) going down to Yorkshire to start with, doing a canal boat trip for a week with big sis and BIL, then a weekend with
number 2 son and his family who will be in the last throws of packing up to move to Malta. Think they might have a few jobs for us to do, but hoping to get away on the Monday and take a few days to get back North. They are going to be coming up to stay with
us for a few days before they fly out to Malta. Then 4 days later we are off to Gran Canaria for 2 weeks, phew! its all go, who'd be retiredLaughing

Got the new beds mid afternoon so been busy getting them in to place and made up. OH has started sorting out his wardrobes, could be a long job as he hates parting with anything.

Managed to open a current account with TSB this morning on line, so need to go into town to verify its meLaughing haven't heard anything
back yet from First Direct but they did say mid week so I'll have to be a bit more patient.

Dental visit in Chester this morning. Went with intention of having troublesome tooth out but dentist insists on trying to save it! As the appointment wasn't long enough for an extraction I had to agree so will continue to suffer (mostly in silence I promise)
until end of upcoming trip to France and Spain. So end of October it is.

Took my ire out on the hedge this afternoon. Looks like I might have cut a bit too much off!Surprised

As tomorrow is forecast to be dry we'll start the packing of the van. That'll cheer me up.

FD can be quite slow, hang on in there!

The rain here was not heavy either, did not last too long, so I was able to get to work after lunch.

All fixed now, but still a bit of a mystery as to how long it had been like that (only 1 good bolt), I examined the broken one after I took it out and could see it had a fault in the centre of it, explains why it broke.Things like this are what I worked
with for many years offshore and on ships, so easy to recognise.

We are just away for 4 weeks, hoping to find some dealers to look at MHs.....any suggestions??

OH was the one who started all this MH idea, but I am slowly coming round to thinking it may not be such a bad idea after all.  A MH would be very good for trips to Scandinavia especially, plus we would really like to explore the Western Isles, which is
    mega expensive with caravan.

We have also booked to go to the NECC in October for a couple of days for a really good look at what is available.

Would be interested to hear what made you decide to change.
