Out all day yesterday for a family birthday (except for a momentary lapse of senses on CT....Surprised) nice to be at home today, the
sun is out at last. Just heard elder daughter has to have a three hour repair op on her nose after a failed op previously. Feeling rather worried at this prospect and hope the new surgeon gets it right.Frown

Hope it goes well brue.  We always worry about our children never mind how old they are.

Now this point has my knickers in a twist and I would be grateful for a definitive answer.

Granddad and Grandma are entertaining their daughter and grand children to tea in the back garden on a nice sunny day ( no probs. so far.)

Along come their niece with her baby, also enjoying a sunny tea time with them.

Question - what is the correct relationship between the grandchildren and  the niece's baby?   we cannot work it out.

Redface......Well your niece is your daughter's cousin, so the youngsters are second cousins. We've got so many in our family I refer to them all as cousins!

Milliehull, thanks for your kind words. Smile

We have lots of 'cousins' in my family as well as I have quite a few cousins and they all have children who in turn are having children. We can never work out who is a second cousin or a cousin once (or even twiceSurprised)
removed so like you brue they are all just cousins.

Wet and miserable here off and on all day, so no outside work possible yet again.

Went to the guide hall and installed the new LED striplight we had ordered for the utility room, it's like daylight in there now as it is 10800 lumens!

    Hoping for better weather tomorrow.

OH has persuaded (!) me that we should go to the show at the NEC in October to loook at MHs.  We considered using a hotel, but instead have booked 3 nights on a site, so the caravan will get another outing.  Just need to get the show tickets now.

She has been spending ages researching layouts, weights and the various different brands, it is all quite confusing.

The layouts under consideration are the rear island bed and the rear 2 singles above garage, both with a split shower/toilet, and one where there is no fixed bed, but rather one that comes down from the ceiling ready to use.

This leaves more space for a good shower room and a bigger kitchen area, which sounds interesting.

hope the screening was clear, H. Where are you off to this W/E? I see you've booked for Emblem Villa, when are you there? We will be at Pershore for 5 days from next Sunday.....not too far from EV.

There's a really good bike shop in Pershore (Echelon Cycles). They only do road bikes (and time trial bikes) and have some lovely bikes in there.

On the main road through, opposite edge of the village from Evesham.

Thanks, Ian. Will have a nosey around in there, and so upset the OH.

Rained trough the night and looked quite grey this morning. Drove into Ross to restock provisions. Walk along the Wye before picnic lunch then a walk through the town. Warm and clammy for most of the day and fortunately no rain. Isn't it quickly getting
    dark in the evenings already.

Write your comments here...we go to Ross a couple of times month

Is that to stock up at Aldi, or just to have a walk around the town and along the River?

Fine and dry most ov the day but windy this afternoon and odd spots of rain this evening. Went out for a drive today to visit some of the many grand churches around this area, including the little masterpiece at Kilpeck.

Having a catch up on here.  Peace reigns for a little while .  All been swimming again this morning, the sound if the water seems to soothe baby granddaughter .  We went last Thursday too just grandparents and eldest granddaughter in the water, joined
by mummy today. Once again we had the whole toddler pool to  ourselves, no lessons on Thursdays!! Total cost of two seniors and one adult 12 dollars, result! (About £8 depending on the xchanfe rate, been going up marginally since we arrived, 1.72 to 1.86 last
    week).

Just heard an Australian woman 63 and husband 78 have had their first baby born at 34 weeks . I'm three years younger and don't reckon that's, a good idea, and I'm not n 24 hours duty!!!!!

No news on baby's kidneys but six week check next week so hopefully get a but more info. Doesn't seem to be much of an issue.  We have however had a couple or three unsettled days over the last week or so but she's going up to six hours at night so daughter
getting decent rests.  Completely forgotten how much washing and work babies make. We have no nappies to wash and easycare fabric clothes washing machine to do the washing - lord only knows how my grandparents coped with their seven and five children!  Hats
off to them.  In fact no sure how we coped .

OH finished ceiling painting in the living area, took five days - large area........  Looks really good now and the rest of the room looks better for it result!

Phik ace is over eldest one had zone out time and ready to go........

Brue hope all goes well for your daughters op. As Millie says their still our children whatever their age.

Signing off now, going to do some sewing with elder granddaughter

I've just got up and put the kettle on for a pot of tea. It's 04:30 in the morning and I can hear the dawn chorus. It's only just started. I couldn't sleep. Too hot and humid with the air-conditioner not working. Just waiting for the tea to brew now. I've
opened up all the windows so some breeze is coming in but not enough! The rain keeps stopping and starting too.

Why not leave all the windows open overnight Malc?  We always do!  I am sure that not everyone without air con sleeps! Wink

Write your comments here...We have been keeping the windows open at night ever since the air-conditioner stopped working. However, some nights there's no breeze. Last night was better because gusts of wind blew inside and kept it much cooler.

Write your comments here...They were just slightly open overnight because of the rain but not open wide enough to get enough cool air in. Anyway, I drank two cups of tea and felt sleepy again, so went back to bed and slept until 8a.m.

We never use the air con overnight.

If the weather is that warm we would almost always have the awning, or at least the canopy up, so can open the window(s) there wide as no rain can get to them.

Then we have the unprotected windows open just a small amount to allow a through-flow of air.

Plus we would have the awning door open if we have the front in use.

Have you found someone to come and sort out the aircon, you use it a lot so it will need regular cleaning out?

Meantime, a small fan will help you feel more comfortable.

Write your comments here...It looks like the service engineer may be able to fix it tomorrow morning. So hopefully, it will be running again before it gets any hotter! He phoned yesterday afternoon about it.

Initially, the service agent was reluctant to come out because they are based in Crawley and don't have any other work in this area. So it's a long way for them to come. He said that Truma don't pay enough to cover the cost. So I suggested that I could pay
them a call out charge because Truma said to me that they can charge that whilst Truma would cover the cost of parts under the warranty.

The other problem is that the service engineers don't have much experience of repairing air-conditioners as most people don't have them! He said he did have some training in it years ago but has never been called out before to deal with this kind of problem.

Not doing a lot today as its poring down with rainSad, pretty cold last night had to put heating on again -1c last night north of us. Malcolm I would love to be too warm, as KJ says get a little fan until you can get the AC fixed or as I said weeks ago acclimatise yourself. Drinking tea won't help cool you down either or make you sleepy too much tanning in it, a warm drink of milk would be better. Throw some of the bedding off, if you are used to having AC on its possible you have too thick bedding on. I'm not a good sleeper so know what its like to be laid in bed waiting to go back to sleep.

Write your comments here...It seems cool enough where you are, Tammygirl! We do use thinner bed linen in the summer but sometimes it can be so hot that it's uncomfortable even without any covers. Thankfully, the air-conditioner worked during that week when the temperatures soared to 34 degrees celsius. That was the week when a southerly wind from the Sahara brought a heat wave to the south coast.

At that time, everyone on this site seemed to move their relaxers to the nearest tree where they could get some shade. I couldn't see anyone here sitting out in the sun. Much too hot!

I can now understand why others don't bother with air-conditioners. It's a lot of hassle trying to get them fixed when they go wrong and I suppose that most people must feel that modern day caravans have enough gadgets that can go wrong and create additional
    expense without adding yet another!

A shed is a VERY useful thingTG!

So are beds too, of course.

I would hold out for parity.....shed and bed.

Was it cleaned out at your service?  If not, that will likely be the problem.   This is in the troubleshooting guide as reasons for water dripping from the inside of the unit......

Condensation trap on external unit blocked

    – Seal between device and roof

    not intact

    – System at too much of an angle

If there is gunk in the outlets, that is not a warranty issue.  There are also internal filters that need cleaned every year.  Take a look in your instruction book for details.
