It's been a quiet afternoon, no orders so far, so we went to our mailing address to collect our mail and then on to Tesco Extra where we were able to use the £17 worth of vouchers towards our shopping bill.

Having spent all yesterday hunkered down in the vanlistening to the rain hammering on the roof ( apart from a loo emptying trip- typical!!), we ventured in to Haverfordwest to replenish stores and fill up with fuel. The weather did managed to claw itself
to cloudy but is now closing in again and visibility is such that I can just see the ponies in the adjacent field. Don't you just love Welsh weather?

Hey Ruby - was up there the other week, went to the Eisteddfod in LLangollen, it didn't rain once and the ducks were most unhappy! Laughing (my apologies for any mis-spelling.)

Finished work early today, have a breast screening appointment this afternoon.

Change of plans for the weekend, had planned a visit to Countryfile Live, but have now booked a CL for the weekend instead. ?

hope the screening was clear, H. Where are you off to this W/E? I see you've booked for Emblem Villa, when are you there? We will be at Pershore for 5 days from next Sunday.....not too far from EV.

Not always the case, Ruby. We've just spent 5 day at Brecon and hardly saw any rain at all. Wet when we left though.

Drove through there on Monday morning and the one car park we saw, at Crickhowell, looked quite full as we past. Roads were busy too.

Rained trough the night and looked quite grey this morning. Drove into Ross to restock provisions. Walk along the Wye before picnic lunch then a walk through the town. Warm and clammy for most of the day and fortunately no rain. Isn't it quickly getting
    dark in the evenings already.

Lovely and sunny here early on, but by the time we finished breakfast it had clouded over.

Forecast said it should clear later, but they were wrong.  A little rain before lunch, heavier later on, so nothing done outside today.  Spent the day sorting out a couple of new savings accounts and updating paperwork.

Then into loft to see what needs done with the ball valve on the tank as it is still sticking.

I've just got up and put the kettle on for a pot of tea. It's 04:30 in the morning and I can hear the dawn chorus. It's only just started. I couldn't sleep. Too hot and humid with the air-conditioner not working. Just waiting for the tea to brew now. I've opened up all the windows so some breeze is coming in but not enough! The rain keeps stopping and starting too.

There's a really good bike shop in Pershore (Echelon Cycles). They only do road bikes (and time trial bikes) and have some lovely bikes in there.

On the main road through, opposite edge of the village from Evesham.

Why not leave all the windows open overnight Malc?  We always do!  I am sure that not everyone without air con sleeps! Wink

Write your comments here...They were just slightly open overnight because of the rain but not open wide enough to get enough cool air in. Anyway, I drank two cups of tea and felt sleepy again, so went back to bed and slept until 8a.m.

Out all day yesterday for a family birthday (except for a momentary lapse of senses on CT....Surprised) nice to be at home today, the
sun is out at last. Just heard elder daughter has to have a three hour repair op on her nose after a failed op previously. Feeling rather worried at this prospect and hope the new surgeon gets it right.Frown

We never use the air con overnight.

If the weather is that warm we would almost always have the awning, or at least the canopy up, so can open the window(s) there wide as no rain can get to them.

Then we have the unprotected windows open just a small amount to allow a through-flow of air.

Plus we would have the awning door open if we have the front in use.

Have you found someone to come and sort out the aircon, you use it a lot so it will need regular cleaning out?

Meantime, a small fan will help you feel more comfortable.

Not doing a lot today as its poring down with rainSad, pretty cold last night had to put heating on again -1c last night north of us. Malcolm
I would love to be too warm, as KJ says get a little fan until you can get the AC fixed or as I said weeks ago acclimatise yourself. Drinking tea won't help cool you down either or make you sleepy too much tanning in it, a warm drink of milk would be better.
Throw some of the bedding off, if you are used to having AC on its possible you have too thick bedding on. I'm not a good sleeper so know what its like to be laid in bed waiting to go back to sleep.
