Cut the grass this morning (after feeding a garden full of ducks - made all the more tricky by having to feed Henry and her family separately from the rabble).
Then decided to tackle cleaning out the front gutters.......followed by cleaning the fascias.......followed by cleaning the windows using my long pole. My arms ache now
You obviously need another holiday, Ian!

soon as we had completed that, the first delivery order came through, a Macdonalds one.0 -

Managed to get most of the van packed up in the dry but then it started to have a few spits & spots of rain as we were hitching up. Left Aberbran just before 11, steady drive along the A40 and arrived at Hollymount, Ross at 12:05, as one does. One free pitch
so it must be ours, and so it turned out to be. Set up in the dry and all systems go and lunch taken by 1:15. Odd spot of rain as we set off for our walk, but managed an hour out and got back to the van just as it started to rain properly. Was able to do 4
site reviews before dinner, only 1 left to do to bring this trip up to date. Teaming down now but forecast is for a better day tomorrow.0 -

I assume they did it for free and paid for your hire car?

Reasonable day here, mainly sunny, sometimes too sunny, other times overcast and rain threatening, but no rain arrived.
Now finished inspecting all the windows, no more rotten ones, so now just the painting to finish.
Completed all the front ones, a few back ones to give a second coat to, but can be done from inside.
Have now dismantled scaffold tower and re-erected it on the driveway to access the balcony. Will start that tomorrow if weather holds.
Have checked out the high-up areas on the front of the house, they all look good, so looks like there is no need to erect scaffold on the balcony. Only the window and door sills need painted.
Next big job is the garage doors.

OH outside all day in the rain removing cement blocks from an outbuilding due to builder being unwell, outside door and window replacements arriving next week, time running out, messy job nearly completed. Helping second daughter plough through online paperwork
for her first home. End of holidays till September!0 -

Write your comments here...No. They said they would claim from the suppliers under the warranty and if they agreed I would be refunded the cost. I had to pay the car hire.

Feeling tired and longing to get home. We've got a chicken and vegetable casserole cooking in the slow cooker.

Today was the first full day of our holiday in Wells. Spent the morning down at Cheddar before driving back up through the Gorge with lots of Cider and Cheese. Started to rain at 11am and has been bucketing down since.

Unfortunately.....
Got a bit behind last year due to my op and OH's accident, so catching up now. Less needing painted than we had thought, so should get it all done before our next trip.

Been to see Ab Fab: The Movis this evening. Very funny. Lots of famous faces. I have decided I'm definitely going to be Joanna Lumley in my next life.

Woke up to heavy rainfall this morning but at least it's nice and cool! We've just finished breakfast.

So how much did you pay for the second clutch and car hire?
(I can feel a recommendation to contact Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline coming on - 03454 04 05 06 - and / or contacting the financial ombudsman if you paid for the original by credit card - after writing to Halfords to complain and reaching a position of deadlock, of course).

I won't need to use Halfords again as there's a Mitsubishi dealer in Brighton. They said they can provide a courtesy car whilst the car is being serviced.

Malcolm - see my extended post above.
I would strongly urge you to write to Halfords (recorded delivery) expressing your concern and disagreement with the faulty clutch that they fitted and say that you should be refunded your payment and your expenses. (CA web site has suitable template letters that you can use - here).
I know they are 'looking into' whether they can get anything back from the manufactureherers, but whether they can or not is their problem.
Write the letter now so that you can refer to it when you take further action.

Write your comments here...Out of the £700, I've only actually paid £175 deposit because the rest is on their credit plan of 3 further monthly instalments. However, I should get a reply from them about the warranty before the next instalment is due.
