Caring Charities?
I read an article recently on the Animal Aid web site, about the work carried out by some leading charities, whose income comes in large part from legacies.
A lot of their (your) money is spent on experiments on animals. When you read some of the horrific things they do, you have to question the purpose and value of some of these barbaric activites.
There's a link here to the relevant part of Animal Aid's web site web site.
Click on the Animal Aid logo if you wish to see their main web site.

Charities do seem to have become a bit 'Commercial' these days. I was executor of a deceased Aunt's estate and was surprised to be written to asking for the legacy that was due to a charity. I had to reply by telling them that the lady hadn't been buried
yet and would they mind waiting until I'm ready to pass it over. That attitude alone ensured that I will never pass any of my money on to them.

With any charity, before you decide to give, have a look at their annual accounts. National charities by and large are rolling in cash and pay very high salaries to their management teams. Apart from 1 or 2 national charities we tend to give to local charities
and we would never give money to to the likes of the RSPCA0 -
You also need to explain in your Will, if wanting to leave a legacy, which branch you wish it to go to as, for example, the RSPCA, if you state your money to go to the RSPCA, it will go to HQ and it gets swallowed up for admin, whereas if you state that
you want it to go, for instance, to the Manchester branch of the RSPCA, it goes to look after the animals there, so do be aware when leaving money to charaties and contact them to make sure your money is going where you want it go to0
