hi everyone, I wonder if you can help me. I am looking to buy a couple of 10amp hookup units and posts to put on a piece of land my family own. it is for personal family usage and not commercial. We have been informed by the power company that we could only
get a couple of 10 amp supplies with the current cables. Its easy to find 16amp hookup units but can't seem to find a supplier of 10amp ones.

Is it a case of buying 16amp units and changing the fuse to 10amp or  can I buy a ready suppiled one. I know they are out there on sites, but finding a supplier seems impossible.

I feel sure that someone here could point me in the right direction

thanks

andy

Get a standard 16amp unit and protect it with a 10a fuse /mcb

you will need thr 16amp socket for the hook up lead.

Just buy a standard 16 amp outlet and fuse down (mcb) at the bollard to protect your cable.

Get a qualified electrician to run 'x' metres of SWA cable to the site and install outdoor, weatherproof boxes on suitable posts. The household end being protected by a 16a trip switch. Don't forget to get his safety cert to keep with your house deeds.

These I have, can isolate them when not in use, very good for mowing a very long lawn with an electric mower. As my daughter says "three outdoor haird-dryer positions."
