What was he doing?
I just came home via the A46 Leicester to ...... And on the Leicester bit there was a lorry in layby on the Westbound bit round Leicester who appeared to be standing on his bumper isetting up a Satelite Dish - approx 3 pm.. Was he having his break and watching
Rugby or WHAT. It was the sort of lay by that I try to avoid - right on the dual carriageway. Not far from the Services on the A 46 or the Leicester Forest ones on the M1?? It looked very strange to me!

, Many 'Truckers' ,especially foreign, carry a small dish to watch T.V while they're on their break or nights out.It relieves the bordom of
sitting/sleeping in the cab when away from home.0 -
Due to tachograph rules he could be having his daily rest as he had reached his daily driving limit so a lay-by although not everyone's ideal choice is a lot of lorry drivers home for the night to avoid paying to stay in the services, the dish would be for his evening entertainment

We have a layby right on the slipway to Junc16 M4 always lorries parked up, yet across the junction is a new area for lorries etc to have breaks. Reason why they stop in the layby is its free, its less busy plus if a driver is about to run out of time, he can get his head down before the motorway.
i have many lorry driver friends that will do anything to avoid certain service stations on motorways, leicester Forest East is one and to be honest after i pulled in there wth the caravan i can see why! I stayed for exactly 3 minutes, enough time for pickles to do a wee! I was discusted at the state of the place! To think i was once on the management team of the service station back in the late 70's when it was spotlessly clean! Now i can only discribe the place as vile!
