When using an iPad, is there any way of deleting the next space or character?

I know that you can delete earlier characters by using the back-space key, but cannot find a way to delete forwards (if you see what I mean).

On a pc keyboard, you can use the Del key. I find it quite frustrating when making corrections......

It would be really useful to have a forward delete I agree but haven't found it.  Only shifting the cursor can get in front if you see what I mean.

No there isn't a way as such.

Shaking the Pad to activate the Undo function lets you take out the last bit of typing whichever side of the cursor it is.
