I've given up trying to find the post ...... Oh for a search that works
Just to let you know, that I've collected my Merc today ... it was a valve distribution block and was a mere £536 all in. .... it could have been worse

MM are you with a Mercedes Main dealer? You don't actually say but I am assuming yes. I have always found them pretty good and I suspect that if you are not satisfied a quick call to Mercedes UK will have them jumping about a bit!

It was indeed a main MB dealer. I phoned first thing this morning to let them know ...... I'm waiting for them to ring back (2 hours so far)

Did Merc sort it ror you Molly ?,I hope they did, especially as you could have done the job youself correctly.
The plot thickens ...... I eventually spoke to MB again who said that after speaking to the 'technician' the car was doing as it should ..... it's OK for the compressor to run a little to bring the car back up to the correct height
. I explained then that they'd done a job that didn't need doing because the car is now as low on ONE corner as it had been before
they started. After I'd sent them pictures of it they agreed it wasn't correct & I made plans for it to go back tomorrow. This afternoon I opened the car to get something, didn't start it, but it lifted itself back up ..... and so far it's still at the correct
ride heightI'll see what they say tomorrow

Maybe the technician should be relegated to the tyre bay
Maybe . Same MB dealer fitted tyres .... at great expense ... and thought it was acceptable to balance one of them with 105 grammes. I objected & took the car back for them to have another go. He didn't think he was out of order though, infact he'd used 200g in the past!!! Not on my car. He went away & was chuffed with himself at using just 30g

After having had the car for the past 10 days, I called in yesterday to listen to their bullsh1t about why it might be kneeling .... low voltage ??? it'd been connected to a battery charger while it kneeled down on my drive. I went to collect it today & the first car I saw as I drove on was my car ..... leaning. Apparently this is the first time it's done it! Yeah! As if!
Drove passed it to reception. To say I was displeased is an understatement. And to cap it all, they were not even really interested .... they'll get their body shop in to look tomorrow ....

Mollysmummy - I'm not sure if you realise but with the links provided, people have access to your photobucket account which shows your username and your real name.
I've Deleted User your links and posted the actual pictures for you.

Even my untrained eye can spot a problem. MM It would be interesting to see if this is a common fault with your model, think I would be looking at google or a merc owners club site which you may have already done. If you post these photos on Mercs facebook
page it is amazing how quickly you get a response from a senior company person. I've had several successes using this method0 -
Absolutely disgraceful. I’d want a lot more than the body shop to look at it. No win no fee comes to mind.

I've had several successes using this methodBefore the car initially went in on 25 or 26 Jan I'd asked for a quote for the complete strut (MB don't do the bag on its own) as that was what I thought it was likely to be. I can see a debate when they ask for further payment for the repair they should
have done in the first place & NOT the 'repair' they've already carried out which did the square root of zero0
