Is the green deal dead?

I thought all the funding had been stopped last year.

If so, why are we still getting daily calls about it?

These are recorded messages saying "the national data base shows you have not yet had your green deal assessment......"

3 times OH has clicked to be put through to a real person and requested politely that they stop calling us. This results in them hanging up.

Yesterday she  asked the fellow how we can get our  number removed from their list and he rudely demanded to know WHY they should do that, before slamming the phone down.

Is there anything we can do?

We do not have caller display so do not know the number to report to whoever. We are registered with TPS and have been for many years.

We also get unsolicited calls about window scrappage and boiler scrappage, but they do have a "press 8 to be removed from our list", not that it seems to work very well.

KJ, try-ofcom.org.uk you can use this to stop nuisance calls. If they are texts forward them to 7726 where your provider can act on your behalf.

The government has stopped funding the Green Deal Finance Company, which was set up to lend money to Green Deal providers.

    If you’re a consumer

    The
    Green Deal Home Improvement Fund
(GDHIF) is closed to new applications.

You’re not affected if your Green Deal improvements have already been made and you’re making repayments through your electricity bill. Your Green Deal provider will still be responsible for any warranties or maintenance specified in your contract with them.

Thanks, that was what we thought, so why we are getting these calls is a mystery.

Presumably some opportunist company hoping people do not know, or some sort of scam.

OH checked out ofcom and was directed to ICO, where she has lodged a complaint.  Since we have no number the calls are from, or a company name, that alone will probably not do much good, but there will be others reporting it who will hopefully have a number,
so our complaint will back theirs up.

If you are with BT and dial 1471 straight after the call, it will tell you the number that has called. It may also work with other providers. It will not help of course if it is withheld.

KJ, we get those phone calls at least 3 times a week, like you we have asked politely for our number and name to be removed. It doesn't seem to make any differance so now I'm not so polite in telling them where they can goSurprisedInnocentSealed
