Mothers / grandparents in night clothes
A headmistress at a local primary school has written to parents / grandparents , asking them to Stop taking children and picking them up from school in there nightclothes, and set an example to the children
I personally agree disgusting habit which I have noticed myself, the local all night supermarkets eventually put a stop to it some time ago, but taking and picking up children from school even
grandparents are at it

Totally agree. These people are a disgrace.

Apparently some of these people have attended assemblies and school meetings in night cloths and slippers. The mind boggles.

I have to ask Why, is it too much trouble to dress, have they no interest in how others view them, hopefully their chldren will have better standards and not swayed by their parents abysmal behaviour.
Just a little worse than those on si ............... whoops, better not go there

I remember when I had just had our second son and had to get his brother to nursery in the mornings. Not being that organised at the beginning and often running late, I did just pull a jumper or a coat over my pyjamas, then walked to nursery. Does
that make me a bad mother/person?0 -
The letter said:
'I have noticed there has been an increasing tendency for parents to escort children to and from school while still wearing their pyjamas and, on occasion, even slippers.'
That seemed slightly odd to me since I would have thought it was far more peculiar to go out in pyjamas than in slippers. When it is dry it is surely not that unusual for people to retain their slippers when just going short distances to say the local shop or the post box or some such. It would be much more strange to see them in pyjamas.
However, on the real point I rather agree with this headmistress.
I am also reminded of my times in the old Middlesex hospital in London when able boded patients in hospital gowns and (usually) a dressing gown and slippers would frequently navigate the busy Mortimer Street to buy provisions from the local Sainsbury opposite.

I remember a very nice well endowed young mum turning up to one of my parent's evenings in the skimpiest of negligees ..... hang on a mo, that didn't actually happen did it, I just dreamt it!
Write your comments here..Is that what viagra does to a person,---- I always wondered.
Seriously though, those slovenly parents are setting a bad example to their kids. No self respect.

My granddaughter who is 10 , said that a friend in her class came to school in her pyjamas as she would not get dressed and that the mother told the teacher to dress her and get her breakfast , what is it coming to !!
...well, at least they ensured that the child arrived at school! In my day some parents didn't even get out of bed to help their children get dressed and breakfasted, some didn't even care about whether they actually arrived at school or not.

Reading an article yesterday. They have been given the name slummy mummies and so right to , some are so upset the headmistress wrote the letters they have encouraged friends / family to dress in nightwear and demonstrate outside school.
