I see renewable subsidies are being cut again.  Quite right too. All things should be standing on their owm merit and we might see more realism now the spongers arent taking our cash.

Write your comments here...if that is the case why is nuclear energy not in the same bracket?

It does make you wonder who is calling the shots, as in one of the "govenment" statements about closing all the coal mines, they had agree to build more Gas fired power stations,so how can they do away with domestic use of gas?Undecided

Maybe its as usual the Headlines of the Media are the usual ,not actually telling the whole truth, and its only certain old type boilers etc that are being made to be replaced

This very worrying we have recently bought a new boiler and a range cooker.  Could you post a link to the source of this story.

Write your comments here...Yes the plans are all over the internet. No gas hobs or gas heating boilers soon.  Foreign countries can polute all they like, but the Whitehall PC obsessed brigade are going to subject the UK citizens to huge expense and disruption.
Billions of pounds in fact   !!        For what ??.

    Surprised

Lots of things all over the Internet, trick is not to believe them all. That's why I asked for a link.

Heard a quote this morning from met office " it's the warmest Christmas in 70 years" does that mean 70 years ago was the last time it was this warm....hence no such thing as global warming....or it is the warmest in 70 years since records began.....confused..you
    will be.

On another point about global warming ,there was earlier a live debate in parliament  about the enviroment etc ,and a lot of MPs from lots of areas, were asking about Flood Defences, the govenments reply was quite interesting  with the millions of pounds that are to be invested in each areaSurprised

And there is expected to be a large tidal surge on the east coast, from Linconshire, south to the Thames on Xmas daySurprised

Write your comments here...Because realistically, at this stage, it's the only efficient way of producing the amount of electricity needed.

It even generates power when there is no wind, when there is a high wind, and when the sun goes to bed at night.

Nuclear all the way, it will generate all day and all night.
