Thought I had better repeat this as we don't want members to miss out on this miracle.....

"a friend and I have both tried supermarked deisel, and we found that branded gave us 15-20 extra miles per gallon"

I have checked the mileage when towing over 200 miles to the same site using both supermarket diesel and Esso and Shell. The Tesco came out best by a very small margin which could have been nothing more than a variation in traffic levels. Frankly diesel
is diesel and every brand in most areas comes from the same refinery and therefore large differences in MPG is simply not possible.

I used to check this when driving large mileages with company cars and there was never any difference then.

Here we go again!   Chemicaljasper, who used to work in the industry, says NO DIFFERENCE! I always use Tesco plonk diesel and get good economy and no problems over many years.
