What are you expecting to happen?. We use ours frequently and have not been made aware of any changes, other than triple points on the 31st of April every year.

Perhaps the OP means this, as stated on their page Undecided

Thank you for your interest in The Caravan Club Credit Card but we are not taking any applications at this time.

The existing scheme represents about a 1% 'payback' which is probably a bit too generous in todays market when compared to Barclays other card offerings.

Someone said on CT last year that there was a rumour that the card would be ending but as someone who uses mine every month I haven't received any notification that it is about to end . I prefer the site night vouchers to cash back as I feel you "see" something
for your vouchers whereas cash would just disappear ! Kellysmum

Snap........as long as you pay it off every month we find it a good system, however I have that feeling that Barclaycard would prefer it was not in place.

I don't know anything about the CC credit card, to be honest.  It appears to be run by Barclays.  Should they pull the plug, they would probably offer you one of their other cards.

You also have to remember to use the vouchers up within the 3 year period, as per rewards T,s & C,s. Other wise you get points deducted on a monthly basis. This happened to some friends of ours, who were not aware of this being done. They lost quite a few
points before they were made aware of this T,s & C,s. I use the card all year, on various bills etc, and the vouchers come in handy for breaks away. Normally leave them for the 3 year limit, then redeem the points.

I have highlighted this thread to Admin to see if we can get an explanation.

There could be all sorts of reasons why they are not taking on more customers.

The Eu has reduced the amount the cards can charge retailers and other cards have restricted their benefits as a result. It has been suggested this could reduce the number or eliminate these  beneficial cards so this might be the problem here but we will
    have to wait and see,

This is the reason sited by Tesco as to why they have drastically cut the number of Tesco points they now give with their Tesco credit card.  I ordered a Tesco credit card last year just to get points - so far I haven't used it -it hardly seems worth the
    bother now.

I think that unless you shop at Tesco regularly, which we don't, it does put into doubt whether it remains worthwhile. I do tend to buy my fuel there. Also rather than giving you points on the total amount of spend it is per transaction. So spending £15.99
gets you one point!!! I think I will switch some of my shopping to my Partnership Card which still give one point per £2 spent and on a cumulative basis rather than per transaction as far as I can tell. Perhaps this is the same issue the Club is coming up
against in that the rewards they can offer reduce so much that it is questionable whether it is viable?

I think you are absolutely right David.  I tend to pick up Tesco points by using our local Esso petrol station.  The only local Tesco we have are the small Tesco Express shops, so it is hardly worth it.  I suspect many of the Credit Cards with points will
find ot increasing hard to maintain the level of rewards we have been used to.

Might be worth cashing in any vouchers you now have in case the points needed goes up.

Possibly a better answer to site night vouchers would be club gift vouchers which can be used as a simple money off at sites or at renewal and would not need adjustment for inflation.

It was inevitable that the current scheme would not last as the payments the xard companies get from retailers has been reduced dramatically by the EC. Other cards like Tesco and M&S have already reduced their rewards on purchases from other companies and
we appear to have done well to keep the scheme for so long.

Looking at the reward levels it is slightly better than M&S and Tesco but whether it is worth your while will depend a lot on where you shop. If you spend a lot in a single shop then their card may be a better bet but if you are not a loyal shopper then
the Barclaycard will return a bit more. At the end of the day though the returns will now be pretty miserable whatever card you use.

Third party schemes like the Caravan Club credit card were always going to be difficult to provide meaningful rewards once the card paymment fees were cut drastically. For retailers it slightly different as the likes of Tesco,M&S and John Lewis can afford
to be more generous with their rewards if they are spent in store.

Basically if you do a lot of shopping in one store their card will give you a bit more but otherwise the Barclaycard offering is about as good as you will get. It would possibly help if the club was added to the list of potential businesses that take their
    vouchers.

That's a very good point, WW. Is there a reason the club won't take Freedom points? ( Have to admit, I didn't bother to read the letter about what these actually comprised!)

    Moulsey

No idea what Freedom Points are but I suspect the Club would have to share the cost of the offer, this is often how these offers work. Would there be any benefit in doing so? Better to have their own loyalty card based on spend on club sites and services.

Freedom points are what you now get. Basically when you have 1,750 you can claim a £5 voucher to use against purchases. Not clear what if anything the retailers lose but given the numbers in the scheme it must be attractive to them.

We were 60 points short and they made up the difference!

They might have seen there was spend in the pipeline not yet debited to our account but it was a shock.
