    Yes I've paid the extra for a few trips, it is not cheap but I have not bothered to check the difference from the standard rate. For this year's trip I am going to try adding European cover onto the UK RAC (Arrival cover) I already have. The extra cost is £89 but should that not be possible I will have to cough up for RP breakdown only again because I have not found any other alternatives.

    I often wonder what others with oversized vehicle do?

    DD. Look at ADAC you should find that they cover larger vehicles and could well be cheaper!

    Thier web site might not be up to much but the service they offer is second to none A lot cheaper than red pennant. have a look at http://www.joysofeuropeancaravanning.co.uk/ under Adac

    but they still have size limits. I think mine fails on height.

    My motorhome exceeds the RP limit in both length and width but I was not charged any extra. My motorhome does come into the 3500kgs category and perhaps its mainly the weight that causes the extra charge?
