Anybody managed to book a site yet?

well if this thread provesone thing it is that a lot of peope want to go to club sites. Why is that?
I think the system is pretty fair by the way
Write your comments here...Probably because the majority of them are jolly good. No problem with the sites, but the booking system is pretty eratic. I logged in at 07:00, but still cannot work out the logic behind that system, as that achieved nothing
other than allowing me to log into my profile before 08:00. At 08|:00 I kept clicking only to find when I was eventually allocated a booking slot that the system kept failing. I had hoped for just one weekend
at the Southport Airshow, but by 09:30 after giving up and trying the phone I found it all booked. Very disappointing.0 -
It is such a crap system because the bookings are made so far in advance that by the time the booking date arrive the plans and circumstances have changed and the people just dont turn up and dont let the site know, one wasted pitch.thats why I never use
the system.Brian & Jo

Just went online now to book Poolsbrook for 5 nights next Christmas believeing that there would be no problems booking for that site
at all as there are still vacancies for this year if wanted. I decided to just see how full Chatsworth was before booking and couldn't believe that only 30th December 2017 was full. What a surprise given all the past historical threads about such prime sites
getting booked up stright away for peak times. Booked for 5 nights easily, pitty it comes to £173. A bit of a shock as almost all our camping is done on the continent and had we still been in Spain it would have been under £12 a night where we were staying.
Happy to have the booking though regardless of price. Regards, Roy0 -

Isn't that conjecture? You can't know if there are no shows unless you have info that the rest of us don't.
CC take steps to deal with members who cancel late or don't show up. It's not much but it's designed to stop repeat behaviour.

Glad all that have managed to book the sites they want have done so. As usual we've not bothered, too many other more important things to do for us today than spend ages trying to book a site. We'll manage to book sites all year round when we want to go
without having to join in today's rush.0 -

No arguement fro me there. It does seem that the booking system has worked well for some and not for others like yourself. I didn't try till after 9, but sorry it didn't work for you. You could try ringing the site direct once it opens, people
on here have stated that that sometimes works.0 -

Well are entitled to cancel within 72 hours and it is true that there are no shows or late cancellations past this time but this has gone down significantly over the years according to the club, for those that consistently do this there are procedures in
place to deal with them0 -

You stated that people don't turn up and don't let the site know. I queried that as it is not something any of us can know for sure without having into from CC on the matter.
You then said it was your opinion which meant it was something you thought rather than knew for sure. I thanked you for clarifying that it was only your opinion.
Now you've reverted to saying it's a fact. How can you know that there are no shows due to people booking early and having a change of mind/circumstances?

Been at work all day we are not alowed phones, so tryed to book rountree park when i got home , all weekends this year have gone, is this fair, i think a large deposit might help till we can retire.
Write your comments here...With over 300,000 members & limited weekend availability at one of the most popular sites of course some people will miss out .
With a total of 98 pitches times 52 weeks thats 5,096 book able weekend pitch days , the odds on getting a booking are pretty slim for every member .
Keep checking the site , people do sometimes cancel you may get lucky..........

I think all he.she's saying is that it is fact that some people that have booked don't show for their booked period.
I also know this as a fact and wardens have told me this is a fact. CC may take action (or not) but it is still a fact!

im only saying what is true .I thought some people might not like my post ,but the fact is it's true ,the present system isnt fair .But I didn't expect everyone to agree.like I said it's just my opinion after 20yrs of motorhoming and using the CC sites.

That's OK, it's your point of view and opinion. We're all allowed them.
I'm not having a go but it appeared you knew something was a fact and I was questioning that. No problem.

It is a fact - that is true BUT according to the statistics from the club it is in the league of the fact that people swim the channel - yes it happens BUT a percentage of the number of site nights booked it is not a major problem.
I thinks what winds people up is that pitches are empty when the site is apparently full - this is said, by the club, to be pitches held back in case of problems such as hookup breakage. Not sure how you stop this winding people up..

Gets even better, now the Clubs Easy book is locking me in a loop asking me to sign in continuously even tho I am logged on and as I am now able to go round the rest of the site!
..I had that but after reloading my internet "infinity?" it worked ok

up..Use a splitter in that case, especially in peak season where loads are less without the need for heating. Reckon people would be delighted to get the pitch and be sensible on power useage. Sounds like an excuse

...Thats pure conjecture on your part,as there are less No Shows now than in the past

...I would think it would be frowned on useing a "splitter" and most wardens would have a couple of pitches as a standby incase of illness, breakdowns ,"members" damage to pitch,,it goes on, as if they let all the pitches and any of the previose occured,
what would you say on arrival?0 -
Only managed to book one weekend in September from the 5 dates at the sites we wanted. All other dates were already full up to and including New Year 2017/18. Usual total waste of time. See no point in continuing with membership if we hardly use the Club
sites. We are using private sites more and finding they are more competitive in their pricing and out of peak season tend to be cheaper anyway. Have fun everyone and expect dissappointment!0 -
As you are able to select any available pitch, spare pitches can come about by the late release of grass as a result of changes in the weather. If these are not taken up at the last minute there will be spare pitches, which may be HS, depending on what surface
arrivals choose.0 -
Like some others I didn't have a chance to get on the system this morning I was on night shift last night & when I finished a 6am headed home for my bed just booked a week at Moreton in Marsh without problems Ive never tried tobook using the peak booking
system (Frenzy) & always managed to get the sites I want. But I do agree with others that maybe a deposit system could stop some from abusing the system lets face it if you booked a commercial site they nearly all charge a non refundable deposit and the Club
use to many years ago0 -

site for each member for a period of time. They know who they are.0 -
Don't see much point to the "Easy Book" Function. The normal "Search and book" is just as quick and easier to look for alternative dates.
By the way, I tried to book a weeks holiday today - a few hours after bookings opened - at York Rowntree Park and found that virtually every weekend for the whole year was already booked, making it impossible to book a "Holiday". Are some people placing
markers to either add-to, or cancel later before the deadline?0 -
All fIve booking confirmations arrived, two late morning, the rest by teatime. Strangely, the ones booked last arrived first. The confirmation for the first site booked at about 8.15 was last to arrive!
if the booking reference numbers are a clue to the number of bookings, there have been an awful lot today!
