MichaelT from Essex has. Lot to say for himself. Let's just hope he uses all the sites he's bragging about, and doesn't cancel a the last minute.

Only got back at 9.30 am from dropping daughter off for London train and forgot bookings till 10.00am. Made all bookings we wanted for next year by 11.00am. Only had to change order of sites for two weeks out in May to get 5 days at Chatsworth including
a weekend. Definitely easier than last few years but we did not want any bank holidays or Rowntree Park. Bookings done on Kindle HDX surprisingly easier than laptop or desktop.0 -
Went to book Stamford for 3 nights from 16th April, are schools not back on the 17th?
When I saw it would be just under £20 per night for 2 of us, I did not bother.
Too expensive when there are no facilities, will book a CL instead.
Isn't the 17th April Easter Monday? Schools will off all that week

Write your comments here...If I do cancel anything unless its a dire emergency it would be within the 72 hours limit unless plans changed and we booked a different site on the same day as we have done in the past. either way the sites would be available
to others to take up if they wish so I do not see what your problem is the post is about issues with booking and I did not experience any nor did I moan/sulk in a corner because I did not get what I wanted unlike others....0 -
I felt like a challenge, so started clicking at 8am. Got through first time at 8.20. booked site. Started again, and got through second time at 8.30 and booked another site, 8.45 got through for the third time, and booked another. System worked a treat. No different to last year. You just need patience.

Managed to book two sites by 9.00 am. Not yet had confirmation email for either and 'My bookings' shows them both as awaiting confirmation. Hopefully, that's purely an administrative delay and not a 'problem'.
...I have three showing waiting confirmation, contacted "bookings" after two hours and was advised that they had had 39000 bookings up till then, that was at just before 10 00 and
to give some hours to get booking number0 -
I just tried and managed to get 3 weekends at Baltic Wharf, 2 at York Rowntree, 3 at Chatsworth and a few others without issues and delays.
Main holiday will be abroad next year so not booked anything linger that the weekends we wanted and bank holidays.
Happy days
Does my nose sniff out a wind up here.

It's worthy of comment that I did find the Easy Book button and pre- loaded details more efficient and far less frustrating than the previous version.
Tj
...Except on my laptop I had to keep scrolling up to get button on screen,so both hand now suffering with painful fingers

Were you not able to reduce the magnification so that you didn't need to keep scrolling down?

Just checked, yes 17th is a holiday, but schools up here go back on the 18th.
So late next year!
And almost £20 for a no facs site is still too much.

...No it would only reduce the width

It is actually £20.50 for the 16th and 17th, then drops to £18.30 for the 18th onwards.
We usually avoid school holiday periods, but there are limits to how late we want to start our trip, ferry is on the 23rd.

I'm a new member so this is my first experience of the booking day...I did find it a bit strange that there was no queue system and you just had to keep clicking but saying that I was in maybe a minute.
Had 2 sites booked by 8.30am for the dates I wanted, and then decided a few minutes ago to book a third and in straight away no issues. Have had 2 confirmations and one still awaiting confirmation.
That said I am not travelling on any bank holidays or during any school holidays (as far as I know, I don't have kids so am not aware of those dates!).

We've had a couple of weeks of intermittent outages on the website followed by a scrum that one might expect in a closing down sale at Poundland. Complaints about the escalating cost of sites seem to have faded away. It's almost like an action replay of
Network Rail/Southern.0 -
For the first 20 minutes I was repeatedly clicking on the booking button and to pass the time started counting clicks. I reckon that I was clicking between 25 and 27 times/minute, I will let you do the maths
Having got in about 08:20 I was able to book 4 sites over the next 30 minutes or so. The web page would make the process much easier if the button was at the top of the page, instead of having to scroll down to it before every click

But that is not a queue system, when it takes you back to easy book you don't go behind those who have been waiting from the start!!
CC just can't be bothered to introduce a proper system because it probably costs more money and they don't care as long as the sites are booked?
Even if you did that, it would still be a lottery where you started in the queue at 8:00. Could be in 1000th place, so it could take you just as long to get on.
Yes but at least you could see how long it would be and that everyone was getting the same chance and you don't end up going backwards in effect - the queue also refreshes itself so none of this constant pressing that does not allow you to do anything else!!
Do people have a problem with a fairer system?
The current system is totally fair in that it is random. Everyone stands the same chance of getting on. If you had a queue system this would have to be initiated at some point. I have no idea how many, but I would imagine several thousand try to make a booking
at 8:00. So as I said, if you end up at the back of the queue, you still might not get to the front till 8:30. One way you could make it slightly fairer, if technically possible, is to have a limit on the number of times you would be allowed back in the first
hour, when booking is at its heaviest.0 -

I have given up trying to book for next new year after sitting clicking 'Book Now' over 35 times. Only to have the screen return saying "Booking not yet made".
The booking web page is flaky and frustrating.
Also I thought the arrival time was now 13.00 but the booking asks for arrival time starting at 12.00. Perhaps the CC has reverted back to as it was.
Congratulations to the CC software 'development' department for a job poorly done
