When finally got on - site fully booked for the time wanted. This system is not fair but what annoys me more is that nearer the time there will be vacancies from those who simply book and decide later whether they will actually bother to go!!

Deposits would definitely go some way to easing the situation as would a proper queuing system on the booking website, so that those who are lucky enough to make one booking go to the back of the queue to book their second and then at least we don't have
the ludicrous situation where some people have four successful bookings whilst others still are waiting to get on!!

...You can only book one site and then it thows you back to "easy book"

But that is not a  queue system, when it takes you back to easy book you don't go behind those who have been waiting from the start!!

CC just can't be bothered to introduce a proper system because it probably costs more money and they don't care as long as the sites are booked?

..How is it not a queue if you have start again?Undecided

.... because there is not a queue, it is like putting a ticket back into a raffle it is statistically just as likely to be drawn again as any of those that were already in and hadn't been drawn!

A queue is just that, people who have had one go, go to the back of the queue when they click again - and those who haven't yet got on move forward and know how close they are to getting on!!

As usual I did not want any of the 'Honey pot' sites. I just prefer to get it done and dusted.

Same happened to us on a couple of occasions. However, how is it not fair. Everyone pressing the button at 8:00 has the same chance. I would class it as very fair.

As you were successful three times, before most people even got on then  I feel you are biased In your opinion.  A queuing system would be far fairer for all, not just the lucky ones?

You may not have seen my earlier post. I was talking about other years when it took us ages to get on. As I say luck of the draw. Rather like a raffle, never win a prize for years, then get 3 in rapid succession.

Booked 20 sites in 20 minutes, what's your problem?

People's fuses might be a bit short this morning so please don't aggravate the situation by winding them up unnecessarily.

Good News just booked all 5 sites for 2017 No problem. Bad News have only recived 2 Booking confirmation E-mails (fingers crossed) I think this is a Superb system of booking  who wants to pay a deposit
Sad Site fees are high & continually going up this system is the main reason I remain a member of the Caravan Club. Happy Caravaning 2017

Totally disgusted. This the third year I've tried to book at Southport site.

i tried to book from 08.00, at 08.15 I finally got through.FULLY BOOKED For the dates I require. It seems to me that people are booking every weekend at popular sites, then cancelling at the last minute due to weather etc.

I will NOT be renewing my membership.

We've found independent sites with equal if not better facilities and not as expensive.

Made two cryptic posts and had them removed. Is this what happens to democracy post Brexit?

The whole system is a joke, I got in 3 times and tried to book the main holiday of the year only to get a script error which seems to be quite common. By the time I managed to get beyond the error message my dates and anything close to them were booked.
This is the one day they have to get it right and it is a shambles. After 25 years as a member I have had enough!

It shouldn't be like that - we all pay the same subscription, it wouldn't be hard for the CC to bring in a fairer system, that's all most people want after all!

I can't imagine joining the scramble - I think I will continue to book nearer the time and find an alternative if my preferred places are booked.

If you check "My Profile" you should see that your bookings are "awaiting confirmation" and emails will probably arrive fairly soon.

Even if you did that, it would still be a lottery where you started in the queue at 8:00. Could be in 1000th place, so it could take you just as long to get on.

Anybody getting repeated error mssg at bottom of page like 'scroll value  738 8889084672 etc ' ?

    Err, nope.Frown

Changing from Windows 7 laptop (normally books ok)  to  windows 10 solved this problem but delay meant Chatsworth Park(Garden Show), Hurn Lane (airshow) all fully booked... Grrr! . Presumably something slightly different about the Booking day software.

Clicked on at 8.50 and all done by 9.15. Got all my five sites, three to Run-consecutively. Didn't find any problems at all, great system when you use it correctly.

As I am retired and do not normally go to any site during childrens holidays but this year I needed to go to Baltic wharf for 3 days, finally got a booking but then noticed the complaints about booking and everywhere being booked up. It must be very frustrating
but the last time I went in childrens hols was when my daughter was 10 and we couldn't book in those days (she is 52 now) we were driving from east anglia across countryand were actually driving through Exeter to go to Cornwall when we were stopped in the
middle of the town by a caravanner coming the other way.Have you booked he said? -No-well don't go anywhere further than this as there is not 1 space left. We left him turned around and headed along the south coast. We eventually found a site in the New Forest
very late that night. My Ex was so disgusted that when we got home he sold the van and never went again. Fortunately my present husband loves caravanning as do I  but things haven't changed, so please no deposits young families have enough problems, but how
about a maximum of 3-4 bookings per month until March so everyone can get a chance and those that don't have to go in childrens holidays give families a chance.

The thing is Caravan Queen that as we avoid school hols like yourself and don't want any honey pot sites our bookings are unlikely to affect availability. We just like to get sorted.

Yes but at least you could see how long it would be and that everyone was getting the same chance and you don't end up going backwards in effect - the queue also refreshes itself so none of this constant pressing that does not allow you to do anything else!!

Do people have a problem with a fairer system?

So have the higher prices on some site affected booking this year? It will interesting to see the club's statistics comparing this year to last.

After getting the scrolling error many times, I tried using my old desktop, running windows XP, and it worked fine, I have now made all my bookings.

There seems to be problems using windows 10!!

Went to book Stamford for 3 nights from 16th April, are schools not back on the 17th?

When I saw it would be just under £20 per night for 2 of us, I did not bother.

Too expensive when there are no facilities, will book a CL instead.
