    hi

We are regular visitors to Hillhead and love it but summer just gone we decided to try something dofferent and went to Looe CC. The site itself is great well laid out and the swimming pool was very nice on a sunny day. We dont have the kids coming with us anymore but we did notice that the site had a decent sizes play area and a mini golf course. From a personal point of view we prefer Hillhead as there is more to do on site and in my opinion more to do in the surrounding area we felt that from Looe wr had to drive quite a bit to reach places we wanted to see although the town of Looe was lovely. Sp overall we prefer Hillhead and hope to go back there this year not sure we would return to Looe.

    Hope this helps

Like Francis, having been to both I prefer Hillhead. I'm not a great fan of Looe itself and it can get very overcrowded during the summer. Maybe the reviews during the school holidays will give you a better idea? I know some people love visiting Looe but
the actual site doesn't have quite as much to offer as Hillhead.

There are lovely places in Devon and Cornwall, but Brixham and Looe aren't high on the list. If location means anything then look at other caravan sites instead of either of these two.

In respect of the Looe site, I recall that dependant on which pitches are available, some are quite steeply sloped and require quite a few extra blocks under the steadies, especially if your van is a long one!  The best pitches are low down at the far end
    of the site.

I don't think there is anywhere to play footy at Looe, although there is an enclosed basketball court which looks good.  The dog walk is smaller than Hillhead I think.

The site is hilly for cycling, similar to Hillhead.

Did both this Summer and though have teenagers, hands down preferred Hillhead. The bricks and blocks we needed for just getting any semblance of levelling was unbelievable at Looe! And...because the site was full (in fact both were when we visited) we really
felt like we were packed in the long stretches like sardines. There were some other good pitches but they were all taken. Another bugbear was that everyone jsut walked between the pitches constantly to get to the toilet block.

That said, the play area and basketball court are great for kids, the crazy golf and tennis court exceptional as was the pool.

We had a fabulous pitch at Hillhead and we did like the quiz nights there - just our personal preference...we also thought the shop to have the most unbelievable range of "stuff" in we'd ever seen! Pool was also good at Hillhead.

Looe had the edge if you like to take the dog out without the car - we'd walk along the cliff top and drop down into Looe and get the bus back. Hillhead  -we went to some spectacular beaches but had to drive to them and then walk down to the beach that way.

Great bus service for either to the towns so that's not an issue - though if you prefer to drive, good luck parking in Looe!
