I suspect that any site with eating on site or immediatel adjacent will have all tables booked by now.

thanks all,ill give it a go.

It really is easy to do. Make sure you have 2 shelves in your oven. Not all come with 2!!

There is a fuss free way, buy a pre-prepared feast from say M&S. Bung it in the oven, serve, throw the foil tins away.

We do a turkey breast from Costco, just pure meat, no waste. Pop in a foil baking tray, cover and pop in the oven on shelf 1. Veggies in another foil tray, chunkily chopped, drizzle olive oil over, pop in oven on shelf 2. Make stuffing put in smaller foil tray, on bottom of oven. Chopped bacon and brussels in another small foil tray, on bottom of oven.

Unserved leftovers, chunk meat, put all in a foil tray, add gravy, put pastry topping and make a pie for Boxing Day. Great to come back to after a walk out.

Line any roasting trays etc with foil if not disposable - makes clearing up easier. We often do half a leg of lamb studded with garlic and rosemary.

I have found over the last 7 or 8 years with the last two vans that having decided on oven temperature it is best to go slightly higher and allow 20% longer for cooking largish joints and make sure gas bottle isn't empty Winking

We're staying on our favourite CL near Flamborough for Christmas and New Year - as we did last year and had a great time apart from the soggy weather!

Cooked the turkey the day before and took it with us so all there was to do on the day were the vegetables and the other bits and pieces.  Wasn't really all that more difficult than cooking any other meal.

Lovely walk on Brid beach on Christmas morning during the only hour that the rain stopped that day and all in all, it was a lovely, relaxing experience.Happy

Given that it's only just over a month away now - you might stand more chance of finding a CL with vacancies than an all singing and dancing site with catering facilities - and this is one of the few occasions when I would recommend finding a hard standing.

We go to Seacroft CC site in Cromer Norfolk each year.  They do Christmas lunch and a New Year buffet and entertainment every evening.  We really enjoy it, but it's not cheap.  Knaresborogh club site has a bar and Bistro but I don't know if they do anything
for Christmas and New Year.  There is availability for Christmas but not New Year.

You can say that again.......eye wateringly expensive, I would say. Must be a really good meal.

Richardandros, is it High Breame youre staying at?

We were there in Oct and its a great site Seabirds are doinf Xmas lunch (£50) but if its anything like the rest of their food it will be well worth it.

Agree about walking on the beach in the morning, we're heading to Brid on Boxing Day thro to New Years Eve

Trini - yes it is!.  Being so close to home, we have stayed with John and Kim quite a few times since they opened.  Just hoping that the weather isn't like last year when we had to cut short our planned 10-day stay due to the pitch being waterlogged.  Surely
that can't happen two years runningDon't cry

    Are you there as well?

Unfortunately no, when we booked our Oct stay, John said after last year he wasnt opening so we booked another site.

    Back there next year tho.
