    The only open welsh sites running near full this weekend are Tredegar House and Lady Margarets

    Of the others if they are only using hardstandings Pembrey is about half full and Gowerton about two thirds. The strange one is Shawsmead, which if they are only using HS only has about 6 bookings this weekend.

    Perhaps it's because they close on Monday, and the site is quite a distance from any major conurbation. BTW
    how are you able to tell that there's only 6 pitches filled?

    I made the assumption they are only using HS at this time of year. Late availability show 27 free, so this would mean six vans. If they are still using grass it would be more.

    Not sure that they will be using only the hard standing. From what I have seen sites with plenty of hardstandings use only them but sites with only a few also use some grass pitches. Not sure if they rotate them or not though.

    On Shawmead there's only a total 48, and if 27 are still free then they will only be using the H/S pitches, I guess. The wardens will have already taken the pitch post off the grass pitches to save them some time during the closing up days, and not want
    any damage done to the grass pitches which they'd have to try and repair before leaving for their winter break.

    I have been watching the Late availability at Bolton Abbey for the Saturday we needed. Been showing all pitches fully booked for last couple of weeks. Now showing around 30 odd pitches available!!! When I phoned originally to contact Wardens, they said it
    was fully booked due to a rally. I am now guessing the rally has been cancelled, which is great for us, but it ain't too good for Club! I bet a few folks have looked elsewhere, I know we nearly did.

    It closes on Monday 7th so this is its last weekend of the year.
