I understand one of the main reasons there are so many people who are so suseptable to picking up allergies and illnesses, is because,we are now so neurotic about cleanlyness that we do not build up a resistance to them

IMO The privacy cubicles should be converted to showers.  We are into the 21st century where  proper personal cleanliness and hygene is expected.

Gone are the days where vigorous washing of the face and neck combined with loads of perfume or aftershave is the extent of  daily cleanliness on a CC site.
    Wink

A good shower to start the day is to be advised both for personal hygene and the benefit of those who are around.  . Therefore  conversion to showers is important.

By all means leave one privacy cubicle for those who like privacy when shaving.

    Cheers ..........K

K, would you have any recommendations of the best soap and shampoo to use ,as i wouldn't to use the wrong type and offend anyone

I have rarely queued for showers, often I arrive as one becomes free, but they are often busy. I'd like to be like tammygirl but closing for cleaning about 1000-1030 drives me mad if you are too late its noon before you can get back in. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a wash basin cubicle being used, so a reduced number would seem sensible replacing them with showers.

We do use our facilities but prefer to use site showers, a service we pay for!!! I do find glib comments such as use your own very annoying. There may be plenty of reasons why people don't, even to the point of speed if there's several people in one van.

It would be nice if users were asked for their comments. We did have surveys once a while ago, but then they were not on useful subjects

..There are about 23hrs per day   that showers are not being cleaned, properly Wink or there are as we we noted a couple of weeks ago on a comercial site no closing times for cleaning and it was very noticeable with the standards of the facilities,Frown

I know that my OH is not happy if there are no privacy cubicles. Whilst we are happy to use none facility sites we do want facilities that we have paid for and for us that includes both showers and privacy cubicles. If either of us went to the showers and
all were occupied we would happily have a strip wash ............ best done in a privacy cubicle Winking

Ladies block at Bolton Abbey site, 57 pitches. Four showers, four privacy cubicles. Guess which never had anyone using them?

From what my OH tells me goes on in male side, on some CC and other sites it's a damn good job there
    are privacy cubicles!Surprised

Only time we leave comfort and cosiness of our onboard bathroom is for me to wash my very long hair, or if we need to rush off a site early to be out. Save a bit of time using site facilitiesSmile

I see what you mean ET. I need to qualify that a bit better. If out and about, dog walking say, then yes we will pop in and use loos, so we do go in a bit more than once or twice a site visit. We have also camped on a few sites, and then of course we do
use facilities a lot more. Ladies privacy cubicles are always empty, while in the morning there is usually a queue for showers! (That is my morning by the way, not your crack of dawn morning!Happy)

Same as you JVB, Club ones. Although he did say the one in Ireland with his mates on a walking trip was a shocker. None of them used the sinks again on that one! Preferred to wash their hands elsewhere! Surprised

OH got the giggles when she read this thread & agreed with takethedogalong that ladies sometimes had to queue for showers in the morning. So maybe the club should consider more showers & less cubicles for them at least.  All I can say it is a well known
fact that ladies queue for loos so they must be used to it.

And while we are at it, the demarcation into "Ladies" and "Gents" can only have a few years left to run.  Not because of the people who are happy with the current arrangement, but to avoid offending those who chose to describe themselves with one of the twelve (or is it now fourteen) different gender assignments that are recognised in this country.

so, will we need at last 12 (or is it 14) different 'blocks'....Undecided

I actually agree with Nav....on some sites abroad, the showers are just showers....for all guests, didnt seem to cause any problems as each one was 'private'.... certainly makes better use of the resource....and not a privacy cubicle in sightWink

I like the 'showers for all sexes' concept, they always smell nicer than the 'Males/Females only' ones, they smell nicer. No sexist connotations, just factHappy
