If I am to keep going I need a good seasonal pitch between Sidmouth & Weymouth (Approx).

I prefer smaller sites like but not necessarily a CL.  Club sites are too expensive, - any ideas?

I can't help directly but could you also consider a site that did storage? 20 years ago I used to store on a site that was around 80 mins from home and work. I would contact the owner on a the day before and when I arrived there the 'van would be sited.

I was fortunate in that the owner had a large compound and as I was normally staying regularly for several long weekends each month for 7 months he stored FOC during these periods

Brian, I don't know whether Highlands End offer anything but they are part of a group and there maybe other possibilities. There are such a lot of nice sites along the coast I hope one will turn up trumps for you.

I know it's not a small site but there are others.

Here's a helpful site, on ukcampsite you'll have to trawl right down through the pages to find Dorset. Just realised I've linked to storage, I think you can search for seasonal pitches on here too.

I'm not sure if they still do, but when we used the storage at one of their sites the "other" club charged £5 to put your van on a pitch.

I think that a few storage sites have a similar charge which for me, if staying for a few days, would be fine.

Try Monkton Wylde Caravan Site - It is the privately run part of Charmouth C&CC.

Salcombe Regis near Sidmouth might be another one to consider, don't know if they do seasonal pitches but they offer storage.
