Since the heart attack left me with a heart operating at 50 percent a service pitch could be a great asset but I'd still use the aquaroll & wastemaster so would that be selfish?.
...Some on this thread seem to think so ,but then its down to each persons needs as far as i am concerned ,we,as posted earlier will book a service pitch, if because of the site layout, in our opinion it will help make life easier

Where does it say in the rules that you "must" hook up to the services on a service pitch???, members use them(service pitch) in all sorts of ways and it is up to them how they use it .........
Write your comments here...The only time we have paid for a service pitch is because it was the only pitch available on a very popular site for one night on our way home from holiday.We weren't very happy on arrival to discover it was flooded over half the
pitch but made the most of it as we were desperate for the pitch. We used the drain but I think we just used the aquaroll to save our fresh water hose from getting all muddy. Maybe other people have been like us, not really needing a serviced pitch but it

If you use a serviced pitch and then fill your Aquaroll at the tap, empty your Wastemaster in the supplied drain and even top up your kettle. You are using the facility, so what is the problem? Not everyone has the correct equipment or indeed wants to carry
extra bits around. To my mind the OP went way over the top and should show consideration for members who might be needing the service pitch facility for health reasons.0 -
I would imagine the primary booking of a service pitch is by those desperate to ensure they get HS rather than the convenience of the connections.

As I don't think the OP has been back to comment, I would be fairly sure this is a troll like post. Although perhaps the OP would like to come back and dispute that. However, to add to the eight pages, we love service pitches and almost always book one when
available. The only time we don't is if we are only stopping for a night or two. These days we have all the kit and couple up. However, when we started out we were not sure what they were, or what kit was required. So experimented with just filling the barrel
with a bit of hose etc. Some of those who don't couple may be in this stage. Not that it matters, they are free to use the pitch as they see fit within the rules.0 -
On some stes the serviced pitches have a nicer view than none services, if I thought the view worth it I'd pay the £4 or whatever.
Also as I'm a motorhomer, if I'm staying for more than a day or two then I'd seriously consider a serviced pitch to make filling/emptying my water tanks easier, but nothing would be permanently connected.

I like a grass pitch in summer and hardstanding in winter.
How come the other lot can do it but the CC struggle to provide what their customers want?
...We are the same,and it works fine as in winter it is normally only hardstands that are in use

Not sure where all this view of the toilet block comes from. We stop on a lot of services pitches and have only once been particularly close. On that occasion there was a superb view in the other direction, so we put the van in nose first.

For goodness sake, serviced pitches are booked, paid for and used to varying degrees. It's what they are for. There is no dictate to say everything must be used or hooked up. People use them in the way they want.

would agree with you. the service pitches at Melrose, Troutbeck head, Whitewater Park, Norfolk Broads, Burford, are all some way, or as near as others pitches, from the toilet block

It may be on the sites that have Service pitches near the toilet blocks were some of the first altered being near the main drains,to see how it went,
,and as it got more popular more money has been used to possibly upgrade the drains in other areas of sites,
,also when a refurb or extention to sites ( ieSeacroft) a lot more is invested,could be why sites now need extended periods of closure

Works fine in WInter quite possibly in that grass is largely out of use. The problem is wet springs, Summers and Autumns
