Just up the road, near Grantham, on the A1 there is an AS which has fishing just outside the 'van door.

    Wagtail Country Park.

Not a fisher myself, but have witnessed some superb catches there whilst staying overnight on our journey North to South or vice versa

Also just a bit further up the A1 is the AS at Cromwell called Milestone. They have a fishing lake within the site and there are other lakes in the flooded gravel pits next door to the site. Cromwell is just north of Newark right on the A1

Been here many times as its a 40 minute drive from our storage. Nice site. There is A1 noise but not intrusive and the fishing does look good. If you're lucky you can get pitches overlooking the water just a few metres away.

We've stayed at Houghton Mill, near Huntingdon, there is fishing on the Great Ouse directly from the site. The CC used to run the site but the NT have now taken it back, very pleasant site with good walking for humans and dogs. Smile
