Q re Bolton Abbey mobile and wifi - EE and Tesco M
Hi,
Having got a little stung before when I've rung a site to ask if wifi is avaialble and been told yes, only to find that it's available up a tree on the left hand side of a field if the sun is shining - I thought I'd ask if anyone has first hand experience of either EE or Tesco mobile at the Bolton Abbey site. I need to be in contact with a relative when we stay who is a little poorly so it would help to know whether 3g/4g or mobile signal on either of these networks has worked for someone.
I would normally just pick a site that I know has no issues but they are all full.
Edit: have just spoken to a lovely warden who advised me that CCwifi works - again anyone have any first hand evperience of this?

Someone sent me this network
checker for EE which I have added to the Important Information thread at the top of the page. Might be worth a try.David

We were at Bolton Abbey a couple of months ago and the wifi worked well for us. As for mobile reception, Tesco Mobile runs off the O2 network and I'm on O2, my wife is with Tesco and neither of us had a mobile reception on site. I was able to use my phone
via the wifi with an app from O2 which worked perfectly. Unable to comment on EE.0 -
We go to Bolton Abbey quite a lot, and as said the mobile reception is virtually non-existant. (That's the reason we go a lot...
)We are on Vodafone, and we never get a signal to make or receive calls, but can occasionally receive and send the odd text message. Probably when the wind
is in the right direction! Same
goes for EE, (the reason are daughter never comes there with us!) If you take the walk along the river to the pavillions cafe, you can get a signal at the cafe on Vodafone. (& just before). The wifi is ok on site and you can use apps such as whatsapp if you have a smart phone and should be able to make calls over the wifi.

update as back from Bolton Abbey and wanted to let others know who may be going, As per KjellNN's post above, zero mobile reception but really good CC wi-fi. In fact the best CC wifi we've had all year!
On another note, we had travelled with our new M/H and as the signal for the TV is analogue and our built in TV was new, it hadn't been built with an analogue tuner so we woudn't get anything at all (booster was pointless in this situation)

Write your comments here...I thought the whole of the UK had now gone over to digital TV only now?
