Not next to, Sue, and not a CC site but the C&CC site at Devizes is close to the town and you can do a tour of the Wadsworth's brewery there. Just be careful on the way back to site if you decide to walk along the canal towpath though! Wink

If you come to Cornwall - St Austell brewery does tours. Carlyon Bay and River Valley sites are both within a couple of miles - with bus services if you stay for the tasting after the tour - especially if they have a free bar as generous as Heineken brewery in Amsterdam.

There are lots of micro-breweries about now but very few publicise tours - probably as there is so little to see. However, if you phone one up they might let you have a look around (H&S permitting) on the one or two days in the week they actually make beer.

As micksf states, there are 2 breweries in Masham, Theakstons & Black Sheep, both do tours, and both have their own bars in the premises.  We prefer the Black Sheep bar, but haven't been to Theakstons since it returned to the family.

There is a caravan site just outside Masham (10-15min walk) called Old Station that we would highly recommend.  (James May & Oz Clark stayed there!).
