General rule of noise curfew on a club site

can anyone advise what the general rule of time is for turning the stereo down on an evening on a club site?

not wanting to be a party pooper by having to ask them to keep the noise down but if it wakes our toddler, I'm going to have to have a word.

music beat has been on from mid afternoon in their caravan (which has roof lights open) whilst they're sat in the awning. We're now at 10pm and no sign of curtailment.

I think its 10pm but even if there is no rule anyone having music or tv that loud that other folk can hear it at any time of day is Imo very bad form. Get the ****** told

People who are so ignorant do not usually respond in a reasonable manner.  I am curious as to how you got on!

.  .  .  . and sing along with the music - especially if you are tuneless!

There is no fixed answer as it all depends on interpretation. If is on a club site have a word with the wardens.

Particularly if we have the door open, I am very careful that it cannot be heard beyond our pitch. Unfortunately you will always get those who think everyone else should enjoy their music. I would say 10 pm should be a cut off, but I don't think anything
is stipulated. It is also difficult to define what constitutes overly loud, as everyone will have a different interpretation.

Club sites do not have a cut off point for noise just the following from the rules:-

Please think of others and keep musical instruments, radios, televisions and so on, at a considerate noise level. Generators should also be used with consideration for others, so please don't operate them between 18:00 and 09:00.

So its down to having considerate neighbours.Surprised. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

On a club site a few years ago the bloke in the adjacent caravan started singing praise to the Lord one afternoon as we wanted to sit in peace outside our caravan ...... I could have happily smashed it over his head
Yell. It's not just kids and the Ghetto blasters that are a PITA

Yes it is all about proximity. At Grantown this year chap was playing his bagpipes one afternoon. Very nice where we were sited. However, might have been a bit loud on the adjacent pitch.

That's what we do, listen outside to ours and if it's audible we turn it down. This summer with lots of good weather in many parts of the country and van windows etc open I expect noise levels have been much more noticeable.

A couple of years back a chap on the next pitch was playing his accordion outside his van at Dunnet Bay site. It wasn't at night and I found the impromptu busking rather pleasant. Didn't feel quite the same about the bagpipe player at a previous CL on the
    same tour.

We stayed in log cabins up at Carradale one November. Could hear a lone piper practising on the beach every day. Very atmospheric, he/she was very good as well! Site was closed to caravans though, late in season.

Doubt anyone would expect a Club Site to be anything like quiet in August, open windows/skylights, close proximity pitches mean that you can usually hear next door TV or audio at some point, even if it isn't on loud.

Having , retired at Easter as a Touring Warden on a Commercial site , we said 10ish .

The site had an entertainment centre , when that closed the music would start again !

Which kept the security guy busy .

I personally think if you can hear somebody else's music then its to loud .

Maybe thats why I only use CL, s basic if possible and tend to only see like minded people.

If only all sites would use the same rules we would know where we are. I thought 10.00pm on club sites and tend to use that as a guide wherever we are. Agree if it can be heard off your pitch then its too loud. Abroad is a whole differant ball game. Midnight seems to be the ruling there which we find too late, especially if you are travelling the next day. Many years ago when we lived in Germany it was all quite by 9pm, no cars allowed on site after that time either, think that may have changed these days to.

When we used to go to Spain with the kids, if you were sat outside chatting after 10pm the security would ask you to be quiteSurprised nowadays they are still arriving on site at that time.

I have to say that some of the worst people for having the tv and radio on so loud are the hard of hearing, I am sure they don't mean to be a nuisance but if you are pitched next to them their tv can be a bit much when you can hear it all the time and really
don't want to. My elderly Dad has his tv on so loud you can easily hear it in his garden with his doors shut. Good job he has a detached property.

We have the radio on occasionally, usually folk or classical, so no thumping beats. Like others we check the volume from the edge of the pitch. I would be mortified if I thought we were disturbing others and if someone found it intrusive I would turn it
off without a murmur. I think we were lucky this summer, glorious weather and very peaceful sites.

    Spot on HD.

Noise should be inaudible outside your pitch. That includes TV's , radios, people and pets. Should be.

C&CC wardens/ marshalls will enforce this between 7.00 and 23.00 on sites, rallies and THS's.

He might appreciate one of the new Bluetooth / Wireless headphones.

Very unobtrusive and the range is now up to about 20 to 25 metres. I like loud heavy rock music (not everyone does, no idea why) and find these new headphones excellent .

But if you're a bit mutton you're not going to hear your telly from the edge of the pitch ...... which might be why it's abit loud in the first place ..... I SAID .. Wink

We've been to quite a few sites in France where there is a noise and vehicle movement curfew from 10.00pm until 7.00am.

We don't do telly's while away, but as we're both a 'bit mutton' and if we did I could imagine the amount of complaints we would receive. At home we have had to feed the sound through the stereo because we ran out of numbers on the TV volume

So, like awning/no awning, could we book rock/no rock pitches?..

Dont CCC sites have this? We dont use many but we were on one years ago where a fire engine couldnt get on because the barrier was locked to cars between 11 and 7.

I think after 10pm noise should be kept down but it is rare that it is noise from music that disturbs me late on it is usually groups of people in their awnings who probably just dont realise how loud they are.
