Membership %
Hi, not sure if this has been asked before or if I am on the right section, my question is that due to the renewed popularity of caravaning/camping should the club look at only allowing a smaller percentage of pitches for none members at sites that are not
members only, this would then give more availability to members of the club especially during during peak season.

I think we have had wardens posting on this subject before and they have said, from their experience, they get very few non members staying on Club sites. One reason might be the very high non-member site night fee. The sites where you will see a higher
proportion of non-members who are in the main from overseas are sites like Abbey Wood and Edinburgh. The Club don't allocate pitches to non-members, they have to take pot luck by contacting the site direct so members always have first choice through the online booking system so I reckon its not really a problem.

From watching non members trying to book in Iam sure the numbers are small. On one occassion in September the lady warden did not know how to calculate the surcharge so clearly had not done it before. At £10 a night most people find it cheaper to join and
certainly another warden gave the hard sell, made me think he was on commission.0
