Stayed there for two weeks last year and one in June this year. We have a caravan roof mounted 80watt solar panel and a 500 watt inverter. Last year because we had a least 12 hours sunshine a day we could use an ordinary 240 volt tv during the day until
late in the evening with no problem with the inverter. This year not as much sunshine but still watched Andy Murray win Wimbledon. Obviously you cannot use high wattage equipment such as kettles and hair dryers but there is a hair dryer in the toilet block.
Our panel was still able to keep the battery fully charged to use all the normal 12v equipment. Some of the others on site had much bigger solar panels, even multiple panels and batteries. Did not see any battery charging on site but if you ring the warden
they are most helpful and will let you know. What the site lacks in facilities it more than makes up for in location.0 -
I would ask the warden.
Review - What a fabulous little site! Incredibly friendly and helpful wardens who work so hard to keep the whole site immaculate. Washroom facilities a little old and tired but spotless, with hot, powerful showers. No electric,
but batteries can be charged if necessary. Motorhomes will need a bucket or long hose as there is no direct dump for waste water. Manages to be quiet and peaceful yet only a few minutes walk from the really cool, quirky town of Totnes with its host
of interesting shops, pubs, tea shops and restaurants. We will be back!s

We bought a free standing 100w solar "briefcase" for a music festival we attended this year, despite four people wanting showers etc it kept the battery topped up throughout. Dead handy, I store it at home, so it isn't another lump of weight permanently
stuck to the MH.0 -
One the majority of sites CC Ltd does not provide the option of non-ehu (or not using the ehu) and therefore cheaper prices; why therefor should it provide battery charging facilities to those that cannot manage without?

PS. I have ticked "Follow this discussion" but if it does not work I may not see your responses.
Write your comments here...note what you say, never having used sites without ehu we decided to venture into unchartered waters and were looking at contingency plans, also looking at cl,s and its interesting to note majority that dont have ehu,s do offer battery charging facilities lets face it who can survive without corrie and emmerdale!!! like the comments about solar panels though looks like the way forward
