We fancied going deep into Cornwall so what's the site like and the surrounding area with regards to things to do ? We will be going for about 5 nights near the start of September.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't used the site but the surrounding area has plenty to offer, you'll have a huge area of beach nearby at Sennen and Lands End to explore (a bit tacky but worth a visit.) There are lovely coastal walks, the Minnack Theatre and the Porthcurno Telegraph museum and St Just village all within easy reach. Plenty of pubs and cafes around. My favourite beach is Nanjizal but you'll find others too! Sometimes the mist rolls in but you can easily visit the opposite coast.  Have you checked out the online CC reviews? Hope you enjoy your holiday. Smile

We had a few days there last Summer. I quite liked it, my OH did not. I would go there again but can't becasue SWMBO will not! (Not difficult to see who is the boss in this caravan). The site facilities were average, with a shop and restaurant that provided
reasonable food and in my opinion a good breakfast - should you prefer a change from self cooking. The showers and toilet block were sufficiant in size for the amount of caravanners and tenting fraternity using the site. One or two neighbours complained about
the cleanliness of them but it seemed to me that as soon as they had been cleaned, some thoughtless people were not cleaning up after use and undoing the cleaners good work. The approach road is narrow and bumpy with one passing place if my memory serves me
well but it is a fairly short approach road and it is easy for the 'give way vehicle' to do the decent thing and reverse. The Staff were very good and helpful. Have a good holiday.

Area is lovely, but if you want to see a lot of Cornwall, you might be better at Marazion Threeways. Easier to travel around, you can get down to Lizard, across to St Ives, up to Truro, Falmouth and Helston a lot easier. However, there is a lot to see and
do close to Sennen if you choose to stay there!

The Marazion site is non-facility which doesn't suit everyone. It depends how 'deep' into Cornwall the OP wants to go and what sort of site suits best. Godrevy Park is another good alternative  being full facility whilst in the same general area with good
    access to most areas.

My son and family have just prodded me to make their west Cornwall recommendation yet again - Poldown Camping near Helston - a site which they liked very much. Reviews on UKCampsIte.

Good access to Phillips pies in Hayle TW

    Most important.

Come on, Fysh, get it right!Smile   It's Philps Pasties!

They're in Marazion as well but parking can be a mighty big problem there, unlike Hayle where they have a carpark.

    Hi

We use the site for our days off and can safely say that it's very professionaly run, there is a seperate field for caravan club if that's what you're after, there's a well stocked shop and a decently priced small restaurant on site. We love the fact that
you can walk down to the beach and access the coast path. Last time we were there we had a fantastic walk to Lands End one day and to Cape Cornwall the next. The very fact that it's one of the fullest sites in the area during the main season to me speaks volumes.
Toilet block cleanliness on any site is down to the user and their attitude to their fellow campers in how they are left.

I will always recommend and use this site myself, it has a great atmosphere in a superb location.

Gorgeous walking around there as JK says! Some fantastic local shows and fetes as well, worth finding out about for a different day out. We love St Buryan Show, but take a brolly!Happy

Thanks for all the input, as mentioned might not be the best site to explore Cornwall but we now have some food for thought.

I think the West Penwith area of Cornwall has a lot to offer and is worth a visit just to see all the sights. (If you're visiting St Ives remember the Tate is closed for development work.) Other parts are available but you might as well enjoy each one a
    bit at a time.Smile

Well yes, but that's my experience on visiting the place at various times of the year from April through to September.
