Site with good links to London
Can anyone recommend a site with reasonable access by public transport to London please? Could be a club site (the main clubs) CL/CS or commercial site.
We were going to Commons Wood in November for a week but have changed our minds after a recent informative post on CT.
Prefer something north of London but it does need to be within walking distance of public transport.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Karen, but we have just booked Henlow Bridge Lakes. Other half cannot stand buses (I quite like 'em) but is ok on the train.
Not tried Crystal Palace but we have used Abbey Wood in the past which we found ok but the surrounding area is a bit grim.

I agree about access to central London but people should be aware that the bus stop is not "just outside the gate". The stop for central London is situated a few minutes walk away on the other side of the road.

I walk quickly but I reckon it takes at least 5 minutes to "said bus stop outside site"! it certainly took us longer to walk to the railway station.

Lee Valley Edmonton is a good choice for N London. Bus outside site to Edmonton and Enfield. Train/tube to Oxford Circus. It's a better site than you first think, with canal walks, cinema nearby, golf course adjacent. Edmonton is, IMHO, an interesting place:

We have jusst returned from CP. The "bus stop outside site" is 4 minutes walk from the entrance to the site - assuming the traffic lights are in favour allowing pedestrians to cross the road.
The site information states that the railway station is 10 - 15 minutes walk. From what we remember from previous visits that is more realistic than Rubytuesday's "5 min".
(No explanation was ever gven about how the walk was made in 5 mins.)
I am not being contentious but do feel that accurate and realistic informaation should be given in such matters.
