The A170 near Pickering
Hi all, newbie here
OK as a guy who can read a road map there is one thing that I have found to be very vague, and in particular the caravan prohibition on the A170 as I recently encountered, I did not see any "restrictions" highlighted on the map let alone any caravan prohibition,
so, my question is, are these highlighted with a symbol I'm missing? Or does such a thing exist?
Thanks in advance

Thnaks JVB66, I must have missed the signposts for the diversion as the only one I saw was about 1 mile away....

The Diversion itself is fine and signposted from the A19 /A170/A61 road junction, it goes through a few villages and there is one hill which is about a 1:8 through Ampleforth but nothing to cause concern i have travelled it many times with 8m of caravan on tow.

Steviep, if you want to avoid Sutton Bank again coming from the north you could use the A19, turn off onto the A174 round Middlesborough, the A172 to Stokesley and then the B1257 to Helmsley & pick up the A170 there. The B1257 is not a bad route with just
a couple of short climbs.0
