Can anybody advise how practical it is to walk from Burford Club Site into Burford itself, and from Bourton on the Water Club Site into Bourton itself.

From the Burford Club site to the town centre is a very straightforward walk. Out of the site and left cross the A40 and then onto the Hill which is the hight street really a few minutes. Bourton site is a long walk to the centre of Bourton with no footpath
    on the main road....

Have you tried Googling the routes?  I've just had a very quick look at the routes and much of them appear to be on a road without footpaths.

I am not sure how fast andy walks.  We have stayed at Burford site.  Google maps says 41min walk 2.1 miles.  Also the main road A361 has no pavement or anything to walk on.

With a pavement, either could be a reasonably pleasant walk but, with only grass underfoot, it could be a tad hard going and take longer.

Probably easier to buy or borrow an OS map and see what footpaths are in the area. We usually do this when visiting sites. Are there any comments in the reviews? It is really helpful when people add these sort of details.

We've stayed at Burford often and I certainly wouldn't want to walk along that main road into the town. However, there is a cunning alternative. Drive left out of the site and straight over at the cross roads down to the village of Shilton. Park for free
and take the footpath which leads off the lane to the left just before the pub. A much more pleasant route!

(And on your return, you can sample the wares at the pub which is one of our favourites!) Happy
