If folk are that bothered. I incidentally am not. Just ask the warden. They are after all within the rules permitted to assign pitches in certain circumstances. Why should they have to put up a sign every time justifying their actions. As I say, if you are

It is a big problem with housing, because the builder doesn't really care about the subsequent occupier. And 50 year old designs often aren't robust enough to cope with modern conditions caused by higher rainfall and more of the
ground being paved over.Also the once adequate drains and sewers tend to get a bit clogged up with tree roots, studge, and stuff people should not think they can flush away (because they can't!).

We will cone off a pitch for various reasons, for example maybe aa arrival needs a pitch than the norm and we need to allocate this pitch. Maybe,it is required for a disabled person. This pitch might not have electric as there could be a EHU issue. There are many reasons why we need to cone off a pitch but it is very unlikely that a warden would cone off a pitch for a friend.

I see on the news today that a report just published ,has woken up to the fact that infrastructure in the uk needs improving to cater for higher rainfall and tenperatures
Write your comments here..Not all of the UK -- Scotland is to benefit from higher temperatures and we are less likely to have any significant flooding due to the terrain lending itself to good drainage into rivers and Lochs. --- . So not all bad news then. !!

When we went to a CC on our way North a few weeks ago a couple of pitches had cones on them, we saw the next day when they arrived the people using them were Blue badge holders, these were the nearest available pitches that the wardens could put them on,
there was pitches nearer the block but they were already occupied.As to cones on site at Carsington, could it be that these pitches were being set up as seasonals? if the warden was moving caravans into position that might be the case who knows

We have seen wardens cone off pitches for friends. We saw the pitches coned off - the two next to the wardens enclosure. This didnt bother us as we wouldnt choose to be next to the exit/entry barrier anyway. Next day two small vans arrived and pitched
and set up awnings facing each other - the warden and his lady were then seen enjoying a BBQ in the area between the awnings with the occupants of the two pitches. The vans left 2 days later and the pitches went back into circulation.Is it allowed? - probably not, did it really cause a problem? No. A perk of the warden's job I would think.
Allocation of pitches generally though I dont like - its one reason we prefer CC over CCC sites.

And I entirely agree, JVB.
New developments are designed with attennuation systems (storing excess rainwater to avoid overloading inadequate drainage systems). The trouble is, developers run rings around the planners and provide totally inadequate systems.
What the planners should do, is to require the developer to update the drainage infrastructure. But they don't. That is eventually left to the tax payers To finance. After areas have catastrophically flooded numerous times.

Unless you live in Perth or one or two other spots.
Have to say local authorities are bound by silly rules at times. Some time back we attended a public meeting regarding a new primary school to be built near us. The problem was they were only able to build on the basis of house built or for which planning
had been granted despite the fact they had land allocated for more new housing and planning applications in. Basicallthe rules meant they had to build on the basis that the school was going to be too small for the known future population.Similar decisions have applied to roads as well resulting in them being short on capacity and needing up dating not long after they are completed although this now seems to be changing.
